WIPEOUT - season 7 (still awesome with Jill) (1 Viewer)

They design the course so that there will be wipeouts.
Understood. My point is only that I'd find the show more appealing if their course were beaten once or twice per episode. That's all.
Definitely. Usually there is someone who manages to slide through an obstacle quickly, but NOONE managed that in the first round on Tuesday. The show is definitely about the Wipeout's, but the speed trial shouldn't be about who can swim fastest to the next obstacle.BTW, chalk up another big 8-year-old fan in my Nephew.

:lmao: I think the show could be tweaked to have the best of both worlds -- plenty of wipeouts, but with the occasional athletic move or genius strategy that gets someone through unscathed. Right now, it's too predicable -- I KNOW the guy/gal is going to wipe out, and I've already seen it 100 times.

Plenty of people have stayed dry on certain sections of the course, just not the whole thing.I noticed that they go easier on the female contestants in the last stage of the show.

Has anyone ever made it through the Sucker Punch?
I've seen about six or seven episodes, and not seen anyone get past it clean.I wonder if it's something you can practice, and eventually learn to beat? The beam is really narrow though ... it it were even a foot wide, Sucker Punch would be way easier to beat.

I think early in S1 someone got across sucker punch. I think that most of the things are passable if you can time it right and not rush yourself. The problem is that people go too fast and just jump into it. I think that most of them could be faster if you decide ahead of time to skip it. Instead of trying to run across the big balls and taking a nasty wipeout, jump onto the first one and then angle off to the side keeping yourself moving towards the next thing and fall feet first.

In the early seasons I think the sucker punch didn't have as much reach. Contestants used to be able lean back and avoid the beating. Now it appears they have extended the reach and no one can get out of the way. It's pretty much a given that everyone is going to get crushed.

My favorite obstacle ever was "Plank in the Face", even typing the name makes me smile. I've only seen it on one episode though.
I like the line of hurdles that go up and down. Those things can crush #### and cause brain damage simultaneously.

How has this thread gone without a link to the recent episode of Jill Wagner repeatedly doing the

Amazing episode for the wipeouts and the dancing.

Love the show. Would love to be on it just to run the course. Of course I would severely injury my self and embarrass my self. But then isn't that the point?

Anyone see the guy who made it through all but one of the first-round challenges? He even beat the sucker punch and that final one where you have to jump through the shapes.

I saw this about a month ago.

I wish they had a Christmas special.

Now, where exactly is Jill in a Santa suit?

I really hate to say this, but I think winter and then spring Wipeout has made it grow a little old for me. I loved Wipeout - just such a nice summer diversion, but it has been going non-stop for almost a year now, and the novelty just isn't there. :(

Summer sneak peak was tonight, season starts Thursday. We had weather reports cut in several times but for what we saw it was pretty sweet.

 what are you talking about? jill is still there.
Next season, didn't realize it wasn't for the current one. Oops.
ABC has renewed reality series Wipeout for a fifth season, which will include winter and summer editions for the 2011-2012 TV season. Vanessa Minnillo will join the series as co-host, starting with the winter Wipeout. She will replace Jill Wagner. "We will miss Jill but are thrilled to welcome Vanessa to the team and excited to bring her enthusiasm to the show," said Wipeout creator and executive producer Matt Kunitz. "She is a great host with a fun and natural energy that our viewers will love." Minnillo will join hosts John Anderson and John Henson. Next season will also feature new camera technology, designed to bring viewers even closer to the action. The fourth season of Wipeout will premiere June 23 after a sneak peak June 21. Endemol USA is producing.

hot chick for hot chick. what's the problem?

I love the girls who either don't realize what they're getting into, or don't care, when choosing their outfits. combine that with water and high velocity, and there is frequent jiggling, cameltoe, and buns hanging out...too bad it usually gets blurred. we need an uncensored Wipeout DVD!

also, I don't think they choose the people that they know would smash the course. some contestants are fairly athletic and in shape, but I'm sure some Ninja Warrior type guys apply all the time, and I haven't seen one yet. they would wreck the course, but it's much more entertaining to watch Walt from Accounting eat ####.
