Wireless Printer (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have a wireless printer for their home that they would recommend?  My kids every once in awhile need to print something for school, and I may need to print something twice a year.  The problem I have had with wireless printers in the past is getting them to print correctly or not at all.  The last one we had a HP envy was wireless but we couldn't for the life of us get it work from our laptops and instead had to email whatever we wanted printed to our Iphone and print that way.   I just want an easy printer that you hit print and it prints.  No disconnecting from the wifi, or establishing a connection each and every time we want to print.  Thanks in advance.

As tech savvy as I am, the printer I might as well be a caveman with. I don't understand it and when I think I finally figure it out, it decides to do some weird like only print one copy despite me asking for 2 or more. Or only printing from a program and not the internet.

I hate printers.

Yeah every time we try to use the printer we need to go through all sort of steps.  Maybe I just need to get one and hook it up to the old desktop upstairs?  At least it will always be ready to use since it will be hardwired.

Just look up ink costs.  I wouldn't worry which one is better than the other more than I would be about the costs of the ink/toner, as that's what really matters nowadays.  Have no good suggestions, as I only deal with enterprise/SB printers.  I love business Lexmark's, but the Brothers and HPs I've worked with are good too.  Kyocera is a great manufacture, but not sure if they are mostly corporate-based.  HP printers have known security issues, but they all do, in general (Google printer hacks to learn more).  But, you may pay more for a printer that has essentially everything another printer has, but the ink costs are way lower.  Or, if you plan on refilling at a 3rd part and not off the shelf, just get the cheapest, particularly if he doesn't do a ton of printing.

Biggest issue with any of them will be the ink, if you print as rarely as it sounds then you'll have issues with the print heads getting clogged. I had that issue with my older Epson, had to get a new printer the clogs were so bad. I'd get a laser printer if I were you.

This is true, but soaking them in hot water usually does the trick, if not I can get you some fluid that will do it. One of my customers just bought this wireless printer. Not sure on the reviews yet, but it gets 4 Stars on Amazon. Plus i can get you the XL Cartridges for about $12

We have canon pixma mg 5320.  Has worked pretty good and gets the job done.  Printing from a device can be done but an app has to be loaded.  I've had it for 3+ years and haven't had a problem.  I buy ink via eBay and it lasts a good amount of time.

printing pictures is meh, but good for everything else.

I really like my epson xp-400, although the model numbers may have changed, that was 2 years ago.

works seamlessly with google cloud print

You can't soak it in water, not talking about the cartridges. The actual print head got clogged, I tried the cleaner kits but it was a 50 printer, not worth a ton of time. I am expecting the same issue with the one I have now at some point.

We have a really old Kodak AiO 5300.  We set up Google Print on it, and the kids can print stuff from their Chromebooks at school.  It's not really wireless since it's connected to our PC, which has to be on in order to print, but it's always on anyway.

You might want to look into Google Print - it worked for us.

First set static IP for printer. That should fix your connection issues.

I hp something like a 308 g.  Or something. Costco 80 bucks
