WIS side project: The RBI Baseball era (1 Viewer)

I'd play live, but my windows partition died and when I am on Ubuntu and try to run sim-live, it says that I have java/javascript disabled, but i don't have it disabled...

no clue how to fix it...

so i gotta wait 'til I have time to re-install my OSes...

My team sucks.

Just a friendly reminder: Willing to deal Jim Rice, Lloyd Moseby, or Ken Griffey Sr. for pitching. No preference for starters or relievers at this point.

Also adding Ryne Sandberg to the block.

So, who's got the best squads in this thing? And who are the top batters/pitchers, surprises/disappointments, etc.?

I still seriously need another infielder....preferably for a relief pitcher or Bert Blyleven. PAs are hurting so badly...
It's not documented in the release notes but it sure seems like there's been a tightening of season fatigue rules. I have guys with over 700 RL PA/162 and they're at 98% fatigue after 40 games. I have had a number of extra inning games which may have something to do with it. It only takes one rest game to recover from 97-99% fatigue so it's not a huge problem. But in the past, I've had everyday players who never dipped below 100% throughout the season.

I knew I was cutting it a little tight, but at least when I was playing live, I scored a ton and that created bad PA problems.

Pretend baseball is a funny game. I was sailing along at a .700 clip and then drop three straight to BoGreco at home.

Are you guys done yet? It's time to set us up a new draft. 1900-1910-1920-1930-1940-1950-1960-1970-1980-1990-2000. Then we go up a year each time.

News about WIS XII:

Came back from down 2-1 to win 3-2 and advance to the Sweet 16 in the WIS Tournament of Champions.

This is my year.

good luck. I'm surprised a team from the roll your year format stands a chance against cherry picked high cap league champions.

Out in Tourney of Champions. I was down 2-0 to a team of mostly fake players (ratings instead of advanced stats), but rallied to tie it up at 2. Led 5-3 in the 9th when this happened:

L.Gehrig skies one to CF that falls in for a double. P.Whitted scores. S.Sax scores. M.Carey's throw goes home, but B.Ruth avoids the tag and scores.
FMLEdit: Example of fake player

Has the Side Project league had its playoffs yet?
30 or so games to go. Hoos has a 5 game over Larryboy in one league and SCBF and I are locked in a tight pennant race in the other. Everybody else is just about out of it. As expected, there's a lot of parity in this format. No teams are above .600 and none are below .400. The Sim Live aspect of this league died a pretty early death.

Congrats SCBF on winning a tough pennant race over the Old Men. Our teams were separated by less than 3 games for the final third of the season. As pennant races go, it was more of a race to the bottom than anything else. My team was ten games under .500 over the last 52 games, and SCBF's must have been pretty close to the same mark. But a pennant with 85 wins is still a pennant.

Great series. I won the first two, SCBF won the next two, I won the next, which takes us to game 6. I took a 2-0 lead, he tied it up. Bottom of ninth 2 outs, Tony Fernandez walks, steal second, Scioscia up to bat. I think about pinch hitting Scioscia as he is not a good hitter, decided against it and he lines a single to right, Fernandez scores.

CHAMPION

Awesome job by SCBF. I think it might have been different if he was at full strength. He had to use his players a lot while getting to the World Series, while I had time to rest some players.

Time to start another.

Congrats Hoos. I'm glad you guys were able to sim the WS. The Sim Live aspect of this league never really took off.
