WIS V All-Time Baseball Draft: HARRRRRRRIFIC (1 Viewer)

Hey Jimmy, good 6x6 trade by the way :hifive:
I gave away more than I received in your trade and GSTH's. But I'm sure I was going nowhere unless I seriously upgraded the offense. Worth a shot, I think. But, aye, aye, aye! I just traded Halladay, Oswalt, Gordon and KRod for Wells, Swisher, Uggla and Wickman. The key to it all is if my remaining starters can keep pace with Halladay and Oswalt:

Capuano, Francis, C. Young, Harang, and Robertson. The potential for greatly inflated ERA and WHIP scares me with this crowd.

A question for those who have played before: How should # of at bats be taken into account? I know we can't use partial seasons, but if a player was injured for part of a season and thus has much fewer ABs that normal, will that affect them in the sim somehow?

Wells is a good start he'll help you in all 6 categories

Go by plate appearances, not ab's. If they are short on pa's they'll fatigue and play at less than 100%. Basically if the guy didn't play a full season in real life you're going to have to rest him more than a guy who did or he's going to be playing fatigued and won't perform up to his stats.

FANTASY COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Hey guys,

I know it is a little early to be talking college football, but I'm just looking at organizing and making sure everything runs very smoothly this season. I'm listing the 2006 rules below, and trying to get a decent head count for the upcoming season. I'd like to get 14 teams this year, and people are welcome to co-manage if this feels too overwhelming or the entry fee is too high. I'd simply like you guys to indicate if you are "IN" or not at this point. If you notice, I've listed the dates for payment and the draft. Hopefully, we'll hit the ground running and have another great season of fantasy college football.

5.16 -- 1899 John McGraw, 3B
Did that guy ever make an out?
He was also the Ozzie Smith of that era with C+/B fielding
It was down to Boudreau 48 and McGraw 99 at my last pick. McGraw's OBP in Sim #2 was outstanding. I think the sim engine changes over the past year will reduce his baserunning effectiveness a bit. I don't think he'll steal 123 bases w/ only 13 CS this time around. But he's going to be a very solid leadoff man.

Is it cool to skip him

Gonna take a gamble here...

5.19 Ed Morris 1885 SP

If my formula is right (and it probably isn't), he should be just as effective as any other starter available now, and he has 848 IP.

I love this draft for the simple reason that I don't think there is any scenario where I would have ever drafter this guy.

Ditto here, but I do like it when people take some risks.

I like him. 1.56 BB/9, 219 HR/9+, 166 ERC+, sub-1 WHIP. OAV+ a little high but not too bad.My spreadsheet said take him in the 2nd round. I probably could have waited a lot longer than even the 5th, but oh well. Now I'm done with SP and can build a nice offense.

I won't want to be quite as daring on the basepaths, anyway ... not with the battery of sluggers we'll have this time around.

Help me understand....Koya is travelling around Florida for the next two days with no spreadsheets and can't make a pick without them. Is that right?

So assuming the rest of us at the turn make timely picks, we are all likely devoting 8 hours over the next day fruitlessly waiting for Koya.

Are we good with that?

I don't like this scenario.
