BTW: what are lineup requirements? How many OFs, SPs, RPs, etc.?
WIS lineup requirements are on their draft page. There's also a HTML hack that allows you to override positions for individual players so you can pretty much put any hitter in any lineup slot.

Did You Know... that Jimmie Foxx holds the record for most walks in a big league game with six on June 16, 1938 in which he played first base, not catcher?

Foxx was on friendly terms with the home plate umpire after letting him touch his butt on June 15, 1938, when he was playing catcher. You could look it up.

A hack? Just changing the position in the drop down menu down?

Dear Al--

Not much is remembered of Ruth the pitcher. But I can testify thay he was left-handed dynamite. Could have ranked among the greats had he not to outfieldering and slugging. In 45 or 50 times at bat against him I never touched him for more than a single.

He had a pretty fair curve, a big fastball and excellent control. Look at his earned-run average. In 1220 inning pitched Ruth had a 2.26 ERA.

In 31 World Series innings he had a remarkable 0.87 ERA and Babe won all three games he pitched. I choked up the bat and somehow managed to average .325 against him over a five-year period. But I never hit him for extra bases.

The best solution seemed to be to distract him - to get his goat. Should have squeezed a few more years but drank too much. Don't put that in the book.

Ty Cobb

Apparently Ty had time to write this between KKK meetings

Let's dump Koya. Seriously.
It's been about 1 1/2 hours...If we are all so aggrieved by this, why do we have a 4 hour limit?

We should either lower the limit or stop complaining when people take longer than we would like to pick...

I don't like it when people are out of pocket, know they will have difficulty getting online and don't bother to leave lists.

I hardly think it is ideal either, but I think that we should consider cutting down the timer to 2 hours...Saying, in effect, "There's a 4 hour timer, but don't use all of it" is weak...

OPS and (2nd place) with difference

RUTH'S OPS

1919 - 1.114 (.944) - .17

1920 - 1.379 (1.082) - .297

1921 - 1.359 (1.051) - .308

1922 - 1.106 (1.080) - .026

1923 - 1.309 (1.113) - .196

1924 - 1.252 (.961) - .291

1926 - 1.253 (.985) - .268

1927 - 1.258 (1.240) - .018

1928 - 1.172 (1.115) - .057

1929 - 1.128 (1.088) - .040

1930 - 1.225 (1.194) - .031

1931 - 1.195 (1.108) - .087

Second place was an average of .149 behind over those 12 seasons. It would have been higher, but young Gehrig was on his heels from '27 on.

It really works. Occasionally you find players who are rated at a defensive position but don't appear in the position search results. This override is the only way to add them at that position.

I think in the draft center it wouldn't allow some guys to be drafted at a secondary position(at wich they had legit eligability).

I'm in. I especially hate when people are in the thread and on the clock for a long time, then post saying the pick is on the way.

:nerd: s,

Am I the last to find this site?

I just spent the last hour trying to find how many chowderheads were the victim of multiple hidden ball tricks.

Tinker, Evers AND Chance all got caught. Evers was also the "perp" at least once.

Where the #### is Koya?

I don't doubt it does - but I have some serious issues with this. If you have a guy that plays a position (full time) in the sim that wasn't his full time position during the year you drafted him I have problems with that - especially at critical defensive positions like SS, 2B, 3B, and Catcher.A minimum number of games at a position should have to be met before that player can play fulltime for you at that position in the sim.

Oh yeah ... that's what it was for -- to fill out the roster selection page.

The last three documented hidden ball tricks are all by Red Sox players-Lowell twice and JT Snow once.Fascinating.

 I'm amazed I had even more time available to waste. Didn't think it possible.
