The problem for Witten IMO is that the o-line has needed him to stay in on protection too often.

I tried to get cute and benched him for Hernandez and it cost me the W.
Kitna looked his way a ton.

Came close to getting rid of him. I may be glad I waited.
It seemed like all the looks he was getting were due to the fact that the Giants were in prevent covering the WR's going deep and leaving the shortrange open. When the Giants were blitzing and going all out, he didn't get much at all...
so going forward, what happens? does he get the looks as a safety valve, or do the defenses take him away and force Kitna to go downfield?

Did Kitna not throw 2 TDs to Bryant?Are defenses going to allow Bryant, Williams and Austin to run rampant down field? I don't think so.Witten always had value... he was stuck blocking in th first few games of the season. patience pays off when it comes to studs,
okay, for the sake of discussion though- I beleive the Cowboys oline took some hits tonight too.. so does witten now have to stay in and block again as you said he did the 1st few games of the season.. Again, he didn't heat up until the giants started dropping back and rushing 4...... so he wasn't needed to block.. That won't be the case starting out in games unless a blowout.dont' get me wrong- I'm a Witten owner and love the guy- I'm just trying to figure out the angles going forward.btw-- Steve Young, Millen, etc are talkng about the dallas oline being decimated now and Kitna being under constant pressure.

well to be fair those TD passes to bryant were little short 5 yard routes......and Garrett just hopes bryant can turn a 5 yard catch into a big gain or a score.....but if all kitna wants to throw is 5-15 yard passes like he did today, Witten will still get a number of those.

Would love to hear what some Dallas homers think about this. I've been looking to dump Witten for a while (also have Hernandez) and just got offered ZMiller for him.
Not trying to turn this into an AC thread, but I'm wondering if Witten's value went up or down after last night. Will Kitna look short more often than Romo did? And even if he does, will Witten be forced to block more, thus reducing his targets?

Nope, held on to see what happened with Kitna. Started him in my flex spot with all my byes this week.
