Wk 3 pickups you are targeting (1 Viewer)

Tolbert is my add because I'm RB weak...Snelling is the pickup for many but in my leagues at least he's already rostered.

If he is still on people WW , Kyle Orton showed people today that he is a legit QB and a low end #1 for fantasy purposes.

I own Mathews and I'll throw a hefty blind bid at Tolbert this week... Problem is, which one do you start? I knew Sproles would be in on many 3rd downs, but Norv didn't have the history of using a goal line specialist before (to my recollection)

If Mark Clayton is out there I can't see how anyone isn't taking a flier on him... limited yarage this week but 2 TDs after last week he had the yardage...

Agree about Olson--grabbed him last week w/his solid performance... and this week his stats again are solid... I like that he's spreading it around... he does appear to be the real deal (based on limited sample size).

Maybe a step below some of those already mentioned:

Josh Freeman - 4TDs thus far against 1int and some rushing stats to help out as well.

Darrius Heyward-Bey - 6 for 80 today. Prolly not a pickup yet but it wouldnt surprise me if he becomes serviceable this year. Oak at least has a nice schedule.

Tony Moeaki - TD in week 1. 10 targets and 5 catches today.

I an taking a flier on Freeman in a 12 teamer where I was trying to use Stafford to bridge the gap until Big Ben came back.

Strongly thinking of dropping Lee Evans for one of the following Demaryius Thomas, Amendola, Snelling, or Tolbert.

I don't trust Fitzpatrick to make Evans startable.

I'm looking at Peyton Hillis, Cle as a bye-week or injury fill-in. He's getting the goal line carries in Cle and may have a bigger role as the season passes.

I'm going to hold my waiver position and see who other teams drop for Snelling, Tolbert, Dem. Thomas, Wynn et. al.

Owners start panicking around week 2.

I'm weak at my #3 WR position behind DeSean and Nicks... Dem Thomas is my guy with the added bonus of having Kyle Orton at my flex.

Edit for my gamble: Passing up snelling as a Michael Turner owner.

swing for the fences: M. Lynch
I think if you have the room, this could be huge. Thinking of this myself.
Any news on a trade happening besides speculation?Who has a better shot to be relevant, Lynch or Vincent Jackson?
Only news from reporters hasn't been promising. Could all be leaked misinformation for all we know though. Jackson's a gamble at this point. A good one IMO because a deal just makes too much sense for many teams. I know nothing though.

I'm targetting 3 tight ends because Heath Miller isn't getting it done. Mercedes Lewis (JAX), Tony Moeaki (KC), and Aaron Hernandez (NE)

Lewis 7 catches, 101 yards, 2 TD, 11 targets

Moeaki 8 catches, 79 yards, 1 TD, 14 targets

Hernandez 7 catches, 146 yards, 0 TD, 8 targets

Looks like a slight edge to Lewis but in breaking down the numbers I like what I'm seeing in Moeaki. Jacksonville and New England have too many options. Moeaki looks like he might be Cassell's favorite target.

Through two games:

PCT of Teams Receptions: Moeaki (31%), Lewis (17%), Hernandez (18%)

PCT of Teams Targets: Moeaki (28%), Lewis (17%), Hernandez (11%)

PCT of Teams Pass Yards: Moeaki (32%), Lewis (22%), Hernandez (29%)

PCT of Teams Pass TDs: Moeaki (100%), Lewis (50%), Hernandez (0%)

If Cassel ever throws for over 200 yards then look out.

Here's what I have:

1. Dem Thomas

2. Walter

These guys are still out on 50+ to ~20% of CBS waiver wires / FA pools:

Manningham (yes, STILL)

Clayton

Heyward-Bey

Lynch

DeShawn Wynn and Chris Ivory might be worth fliers. Wynn for 1-3 weeks, Ivory for longer.

Of course when picking Moeaki you also have to consider the injury risk. This guy could not stay healthy at Iowa and missed time every year with a wide variety of injuries. I know that past injuries do not necessarily predict future ones, but this guy seems to be one of those fragile guys who can't finish a season. I say this as an Iowa grad and as a fan.

Good post. I'm also considering Moeaki, with Celek disappointing so far.

I decided to look into Orton a little more to see if what you mentioned was a reality or not, and I'm inclined to side on not.I picked one of my leagues (pretty standard scoring) to see how Orton has fared in his time with the Broncos. Here is where he ranked each week in terms of QB scoring:200924, 16, 23, 9, 9, 9, 21, 25, 11, 32, 19, 20, 7, 16, 9, 11201021, 13IMO, there have not been enough weeks where Orton was worth starting. I think he might be a decent QB2 as an injury or bye week fill-in, but in most leagues I think there are a number of other options that might be better choices than Orton.Given what the top scorers post each week, Orton could be a liability and score way less than the top half of QBs each week, as he up until now has not really approached the big boys.

I wouldn't want to be in a position where I'm starting Moeaki this week with Patrick Willis roaming the middle of the field. That 49ers defense is a tough matchup for the Chiefs.

He did say low end #1. A QB who routinely ranks between 9-15 is a low end #1, given that each week some bad QBs will score in the top ten. And it is reasonable to expect some improvement from Orton in the second year in the Broncos' system; the first two weeks of the season have borne that out.

Guess it depends on league scoring but Orton is 6th in one of my leagues and 9th in 2 others after 2 wks. Based on what I have seen in preseason and 2 wks he is definitely a QB1. And look at his schedule after the wk9 BYE - KC, @SD, STL, @KC, @AZ, @OAK, Hou, SD. I've bought in 3 leagues.

Grabbing K.Williams RB WASH with the LJ release.. we roster 39 ea x 12 teams so most of the guys named here are already rostered (IDP League start 8off, 7def).
