WK7: Davis or Walter HOU (1 Viewer)

I'd take Davis because of the two I think he's the one who will still have value if Johnson is able to play this week. Davis has come THIS close to touchdowns in recent games, having one overturned and fumbling another out of the end zone. So his fantasy production would be a lot stronger with a little better luck. He's the big-play threat in the offense without Johnson and if Johnson returns defenses will roll toward him and Davis will still get opportunities. If Johnson's back, I think Walter slides to the No. 3 role and isn't as much of a factor. If Johnson doesn't play, I'd be comfortable with either guy as a WR3 although I'd probably feel better about Walter in a PPR league. I do think his game last week was a fluke. I don't see him coming anywhere near that production in a game anytime soon again.

neithernot much left after Andre and Owen
disagree somewhat. When AJ returns they're going to be a well rounded passing O and Shaub will spread it around. He's capable of going through his progressions (unlike Carr) and finding the open guy and trusts both Davis and Walter now. AJ and Daniels will be the primary targets though. I think Davis continues to have value after AJ comes back, but it'll be along the lines of a WR3 instead of the WR1/2 he's been over the last 3 weeks.

I think Walter's big game quite possibly came from the specific Jacksonville matchup. I remember earlier this year, when they faced Denver, Marshall went off for 130 yards while Walker got zilch. Davis got zilch this time while Walter caught umpteen passes. I think the Jags might just do an excellent job on top wideouts...

Don't forget Jacoby Jones was getting some looks early in the season before his shoulder injury. When he comes back at full strength I suspect he'll factor into the equation somehow.

While Davis has played well in AJ's absence, I think when AJ returns Davis will be the slot receiver and Walter will be starting opposite AJ. Walter is more of a possession receiver while Davis is a guy that gets down field. Davis will see some time but when AJ returns his production is going to take a significant hit.

That will be interesting. IMO That would be Schaub(who I've been impressed with) taking his game to another level. I'm not saying he didn't go thru his reads before but that trust, timing, connection he built up with Andre Davis and Walter. Earlier, I really felt like it was just Andre and Owen with a sort of minimal effort to go elsewhere. You know as well as I how tough it makes Brady and Manning when they genuinely use anybody and everybody in the passing game. Schaub could really improve if he does that.

The Texans' staff really like and trust Kevin Walter. When Andre Johnson comes back, Walter will remain as the starter with Davis and Jacoby Jones getting significant if not nearly equal playing time. I don't think any will be a consistent FF option unless Schuab does make the improvement Bri talked about in his post.

Is it luck or skill working against Davis? He's on what his 3rd or 4th team now? He bumped around unsigned for a while as well. Walter is a much more physical presence (judging from his size - I admitted haven't seen any Texans games this season) than Davis. I think both could have some value, but let's face it Andre is the man when he comes back, if he comes back.

23 /304 in the past three games for Kevin Walter.

These numbers should not be ignored. He is becoming

a go to target for Matt Schaub.

Of course the return of Andre Johnson will affect these

numbers to the downside, but I still think he is a worthy

start as a WR 3 or flex.

WALTER > DAVIS

theyre playing the titans ... neither ... find another WR if you can

if you can't i'd go with Walter ... size does matter

Davis 88 yds 1TD + 2 pt conv.Walter 97 yds 1TDCongrats to anyone with the smarts to pick up and play either one of these guys :moneybag:

Davis also had a 53-yard reception called back because of a penalty. I think both guys are strong WR3 options at worst as long as Johnson is out.
