Women's March on Washington (2 Viewers)

Bill Burr has a funny bit explaining why men get this surcharge as he calls it.  We're the last ones out of a house fire, Men check out noises in the middle of the night, etc.

In several hours of March and rally, I saw exactly one sign that referenced equal pay. Different marchers had different priorities, of course, but this one didn't seem to be in the top 20.

Lotta respect for the class she exhibited - the rest can go #### themselves.

I was originally booked to march in DC today but had to cancel; ended up doing the Seattle march instead.

I was worried about going because I didn't want to be in the midst of a bunch of anger - I might feel some anger but didn't want to dwell on that.  What I found instead was the most positive, uplifting experience I could have imagined.  Beautiful, beautiful day.

Also, the Lily Ledbetter Equal Pay Act was literally the first law that Barack Obama signed as President.  Which, obviously didn't instantly solve pay inequality, but at least may have proven his bona fides in the area in a way Trump has not.

not in the least ... guy has set an awfully low bar for himself, and keeps doin' that Limbo  :thumbup:   he entered the race that way, debated that way, campaigned that way.  he's an enormous tool, we all get it.

and although not entirely thrilled with his prospects, i do support the guy - but I stop short of deifying, like so many on the left tend to do with their 'leaders'.

Okay, Trump supporters, I addressed something specific to a poster last night about his comment that the protesters needed a "good dicking." Well, it looks like the same type of classless comments just keep spewing forth, so let's just address this in a general post.  

First of all, women's opinions and the validity of their protest/issues should not be based on their attractiveness. That should be patently obvious, and a given.  Secondly, lots of football guys had their wives, daughters, friends and relatives there, so you are making this very personal with your comments.  I would ask you all to have a little class and respect, and stop.

I come here for jokes, fun and good discussion, and lately it's a bunch of people coming in and denigrating and flatly dismissing while using very rude terminology. Honestly, it's not even just from one side, but the worst of it happens to be from one side the last few days. I've been coming here since the beginning, and I'm considering stopping because some of you are acting reprehensibly and making this place suck. Please stop, and find a modicum of class.

Marcel Altenburg and Keith Still, crowd scientists at Manchester Metropolitan University in Britain, analyzed photographs and video taken of the National Mall and vicinity and estimated that there were about 160,000 people in those areas in the hour leading up to Mr. Trump’s speech Friday.
They estimated that at least 470,000 people were at the women’s march in Washington in the areas on and near the mall at about 2 p.m. Saturday.

Well then if you're going to get so upset at petulance on one side to the point where you feel the need to curse and tell a group to go #### themselves while at the same time acknowledging that the leader of the other side - your stated side - is the very epitome of petulance, then how do you expect anybody to take you seriously?

 
Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don't always agree I respect the right of the people to express their views. 

Well said Mr. President. If we're going to criticize the man for his stupid and dangerous remarks, we ought to give him credit when he says something right.

Yeah I don't think we need crowd scientists to know Trump and his team are full of crap and lying because their feelings are hurt.  We have eyes.  We saw the sparse turnout Friday compared to the massive crowds yesterday.  So weird that this bothers them so much they have to lie to themselves to feel better.

Hate to go here, because your point is valid, but now you are getting a small taste of what Trump supporters have been experiencing in here for 18 months - insulting generalizations, stereotypes... bigots, nazis, white supremacists, stupid, ignorant, uneducated, old white men full of hate.  Just saying.

This is strange to me because I currently don't have anything to whine about. I think this is all great. 

However, it's not nice to pick on someone who may need a support group. It's not very inclusive, and some might say it's "hateful".

Higgs, you keep repeating this, and while it has some merit, those generalizations did not arise out of thin air. 

The problem is that during the campaign Donald Trump would say something bigoted or racist or Nazi like, and his supporters would either ignore it, try to minimize it, or outright defend it. That is what caused the reaction you complain about.

Which is the answer I would have given too.  It's a magic football message board so who cares.  But my god, man....You do recognize your own hypocrisy here, right?  Fine with Trump's petulance, but anybody on the left being petulant, well #### them all to hell!

My kids stopped using this tactic at around the age of 10 because not only was it childish but it never got them anywhere. Some of you seem not to have ever learned that lesson...
