Higgs, you keep repeating this, and while it has some merit, those generalizations did not arise out of thin air. 

The problem is that during the campaign Donald Trump would say something bigoted or racist or Nazi like, and his supporters would either ignore it, try to minimize it, or outright defend it. That is what caused the reaction you complain about. 

Yeah, we keep going round and round on this.  I could just as easily put together a mental construct showing Lefties to be violent, racist, intolerant, lazy, ugly... you get the point.  Both sides can easily demonize the other and present a strong case for highlighting the worst qualities they see in the other.  It's kind of funny to me that you keep dispelling this equivalency by saying, "Yeh, but it's really true about your side".

Back to the topic of the thread. 

Its not going to be enough for the people who showed up yesterday to have record crowds. They can't be complacent now and say "we did our part". If they want to make a difference they need to stay energized. 

Also the opposition to Trump, IMO, shouldn't waste time opposing either little meaningless stuff or stuff that any Republican President would do (such as cutting corporate taxes for example). They should focus on the stuff that makes Trump different from previous Presidents and a threat to our freedoms. For example: 

This wholesale and unwarranted attack on the mainstream media. 

Straight out falsehoods (no matter what the subject) and referring to them as "alternative facts". 

Threatening to quit NATO. 

Starting trade wars with China and Mexico. 

Cozying up to Putin. 

Committing war crimes. 

Etc. Etc. Concentrate on the weird stuff, the stuff that's truly out of the ordinary, and we can make the opposition to Trump bipartisan instead of just liberals as his supporters are determined to portray.

I have also spoken out against that, because I agree that blanket stereotypes and denigrating an entire group because of differing viewpoints is just wrong. When my wife and daughter generalize in that way, I remind them of the loving and nice Trump supporters they have in their life, and to not paint with such a broad and negative brush. The other side is not evil, and tearing others down to build yourself up is no way to go about life. You will also find it's hard to change a mind when you throw around insults. 

That being said, people's wives and daughters from here on this very message board are being described as heifers, ugly and people are saying they need a "good dicking." If any one of you said that to me IRL, you'd learn a quick lesson to not mistake my kindness for weakness. I would like the classless and disrespectful comments about our loved ones to stop. That's just going too far, and even a quiet lurker like me won't just sit by and ignore it. I know you are not one of those people saying such things. 

Your point is fair, but is wholly separate from mine.  Disagreement with the protesters is fine, disagreement with their points is fine, but let's stop with the the classless and crude comments towards women.
