Wonder Woman: First live action good DC movie in a long time? (1 Viewer)

Yeah.  The cost to do a period show was crazy so when CBS bought it, they made some serious changes.  I loved IRA, the super wise cracking supercomputer.  For me the 2nd season where Diana is going to all these different places, but they all look like LA is hilarious.  Detroit has palm trees?
The episode I caught was some super alien being was on some council that had decided earth was too violent to go on and was slated to be destroyed. One of the members of the council comes to earth (pretty sure he played the commander or president or whatever on Buck Rogers) to prove that we are not violent. Then out of the blue, there are all these are all these Nazis. I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on.

He was making the rounds amongst the world's superpowers at the time.  His suit was pretty sweet.  :tinfoilhat:

Just got out of it. Very good. Best DC movie without Heath Ledger in it. Would not rank it up with the best Marvel ones. But it was good.

Some people get gassed but they cut away, don't show much but panic. Test of a guy in a mask but mask stays intact.. cut away to finish him off when mask pulled off
There is the woman who spends most of the movie with a mask-thing glued to her face that you see at one point without the mask on.  Surprise, she's missing that part of her face.

Was just about to add that. Yeah, not pretty. Not sure if it would be too much to a parent or not.

Loved Linda Carter as a kid in her WW outfit but didn't realize, until seeing an episode recently, how cute she was in the uniform and giant glasses. Damn!

eta: pic
Lynda Carter in glasses... how long until that pic is posted on the Oddly Attractive thread?

now, this Godot chic - while certainly gorgeous and sexy- is nowhere near as "well endowed" as Ms. Carter ... does that rankle the purists? or did they stuff the livin' #### outta that breastplate?

I believe they padded the hell out of Lynda's costume back in the 70s.

Gal Gadot did say the internet complained about her breasts when she was on Kimmel about a year ago.

LC did a topless scene in a movie called Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw. She's not flat by any means, but there was some "exaggeration" in the WW costume.
It just looks like the costume is acting like a pushup bra to me.

Fun fact: Gail Gadot is a former Miss Israel and served two years in the Israeli army.
Serving in the Israeli army isn't as special as it may seem.

From Wiki:

Conscription exists in Israel for all Israeli citizens over the age of 18 who are Jewish, Druze or Circassian; Arab citizens of Israel are not conscripted. Other exceptions are made on religious, physical or psychological grounds. The normal length of compulsory service is currently two years and eight months for men (with some roles requiring an additional four months of service), and two years for women.

There's only one thing that I didn't like about the movie:

After seeing Diana's display of godly power at the end, what happened to all that between WWI and BvS that she wasn't able to take on Doomsday by herself rather easily?

First thing I think of when someone says Linda Carter (other than her in the wonder woman costume) is her in a swimsuit on Battle of the Network Stars. That was awesome when I was kid and the internet was nothing more than just a far off gleam in Al Gore's eye.
Battle of the Network Stars  brings back a lot of memories.

I remember when Robert Conrad was pissed about some race and demanded a do-over against Gabe Kaplan and Gabe went out and beat him

My thought at the time was "It's Wonder Thor"!

By the way, I don't know if "Dunkirk" will be a good movie or not... but I thought the trailer they showed for it before Wonder Woman was amazing.

We all enjoyed the movie.  Easily the best DC movie (ignoring the wonderful lego Batman) since The Dark Knight for us.

OK for young kids?
I struggle to answer these questions since I have no idea what people care about for their specific kids.

Many Americans are fine with seeing massive amounts of violence but if a boob is shown, that is over the top.  Others take the opposite approach.

I always recommend to read the parents guide on IMDB with the general comment that everything tends to look worse in print than on the screen for these parents guides.

Well, are the wonder boobs shown?
