Amazon has a refurbished Irobot roomba 4299 for $129.99 including shipping and tax. A bit cheaper and newer than the woot offering, but it's reconditioned...still, not bad. I got one this morning, unaware of the woot offer. I could've cancelled, but I'll go with amazon, the newer model, and cheaper price - reconditioned doesn't phase me.

THanks - got it for the wife. Sorry to the rest of you for not buying a woot.

Even one that does the vacuuming for her, automatically, freeing her up to do other things like dishes or making dinner?

Do you still buy “backup” Hong Kong DVD releases of current theatrical movies? Are you fed up with the spotty quality and long download times of the latest torrents? Have the ushers at the local movieplex gotten better at spotting your bulky VHS camcorder, even when it’s hidden in that secret compartment in your pants?

Meet the Hitachi DVD Camcorder, aka “the Bootlegger’s Friend.” This handy cam records directly to high-resolution DVD format, for a theater experience so real you’ll reflexively wipe the popcorn butter off of your fingers. (The video quality is almost as high as miniDV tape, but of course "almost" is a subjective term.) Combining an 25x optical zoom with a 1200x digital zoom, the Hitachi DZMV550A features both DVD-RAM rewriteable technology and DVD-R Write Once technology so you can record right onto DVD discs. Your “backup copies” will be for sale on streetcorners across Manhattan faster than you can say “Dan Glickman.”

Sure, you can also use it to record precious moments like little Tommy’s first dose of Ritalin, or that family trip to Grover Cleveland’s boyhood home. And they’ll be preserved in optimum digital clarity for time immemorial, or until the next cutting-edge video format comes along (ETA: 2008). But hey, wasn’t real life boring enough the first time around?

NOTE: Woot does not condone the theft of intellectual property, so don’t call us for bail money if you get busted. Joking about the theft of intellectual property, on the other hand, is fine by us.

Somebody posted a link during the last woot-off (you'd have to back through this thread to find the link) that showed how many there was.You can also click on the Product Stats to see who is buying them

was thinking about buying some for our office. We're using CardScan software with their scanners. Probably should upgrade them, but don't want to start using different software right now.

I've never purchased anything from Woot, and only look once in a while when I'm bored. Can a regular tell me, do they keep switching the sale item when it is sold out, or when they sell out are they done for the day? I could have sworn they were selling a Lexmark multipurpose printer this morning. I also see they have a Copilot Navigator again. It was on there a few days ago.

How annoying would it be to lug your laptop everywhere? I'd like a gps, but I'm not sure I'd really use it, and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars to find out.

Usually, they only sell one item per day. When (if) that sells out, they don't put anything else up for sale.Once a month, they have what is called a "woot off", where when one item sells out, they immediately put another item up for sale. This usually lasts anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. Today is the first day of the woot off. Will most likely go through tomorrow sometime.

It's something else now.
See above Rose.Normally it's one item per day. On occasion they do a "Woot-off" (which is what's happening now). During one of these, which last a day or two, they put up an item and sell it until it sells out, then immediately move on to another item. The flashing lights indicate that it's a woot off, and the progress bar at the bottom tells you how close we are to the next item.
