As a 49ers fan, I would say the 2-14 2004 team should contend in this poll. Just look up the roster from that year. We went 5-11 last year, and last year's team has fives times more talent than that team. I don't know how we won two games that year.

Again, I wonder why we are placing performance ahead of important things like sportsmanship and following rules here.

Some of you have a warped sense of "worst".

The worst team is clearing any Patriots team from the past 8 years. They clearing cheated in every game and would not have won a single game this whole decade if not for their superior, yet illegal, video department.

I voted OTHER

That 2006 Raiders team was the worst I've seen since the '76 Buccaneers.

Total embarrassment...to THE LEAGUE!

There were 3 games that the 2005 Texans lost in a row by heartbreakers. An OT loss to ST. Louis on a bomb to Kevin Curtis. Baltimore kicked a game winning field goal to win by 1 point with 6 seconds remaining the next week. Then Kris Brown shanked a 23 yard FG against Tenn that sent the game to OT where Tenn won the toss and kicked a FG to win.

People were accusing the 2005 Texans of deliberatly throwing games in order to draft Reggie Bush. That seems sort of interesting in hindsight now.

....and they won both of those games in overtime against the Cardinals....

Nice dramatic effect, but factually incorrect.Their offense (11 PPG) was brutal. Their defense was more than respectable, finishing in the middle of the pack (20.8 PPG).

Only for the same reason they had a top-ranked pass defense. Opponents were in cruise control after the 1st score in the 2nd half. If you were up 13-3 vs the 2006 Raiders, it was a lead you could sit on and run out the clock.

And that stat is also misleading. Their offfense was so incredibly inept, opposing teams didn't even TRY to pass the ball, but instead spent most of their time in SAFE, VANILLA mode offense. The Raiders defense of 2006 was not horrid, but perhaps not as nearly as good as the numbers suggest because their offense wasn't just bad. Under the circumstances, their defense was probably below average.

i remember that game. his only catch if i remember correctly. won a fantasy league's weekly high score title with that play.

the 06 Raiders had the worst offense I've ever witnessed. People always say they had a good pass D, but truth was teams didn't need to pass against them cause 13 pts was enough to win

I don't pretend to remember all these bad teams, but that Raiders team was awful, run by coaches in way over their head. Art Shell is an all-time Raider, but he had no clue. Worst coaching job since Kotite.

:pickle: Good to see you finally came to your senses. Who are you following now? The Jets? :lmao:

the 2007 Fins were in almost every game. They just couldnt seem to win any.
:pickle:
Indeed.Honestly I don't know how anyone could possibly vote for the '07 Fins over the '06 Raiders. I can understand missing out on some of the other ones because they were a while ago and people have forgotten, but the '06 season is recent enough that everyone should be able to recall just how absurdly awful that Oakland Raiders team was. Has anyone seen a worse offense than that EVER?

First off all, if Brian Bilick wasn't a complete and utter moron, the Dolphins go 0-16. Cam Cameron might be the worst head coach in the last 20 years. The Dolphins were freakishly bad. The Raiders were just the Raiders. When you're a hair away from 0-16, you're special.

You know what's hilarious and mind numbing about this is the fact that if the Jets or Bills were in the same shoes of the Patriots you'd be crying bloody murder. Try being objective.

The Dolphins could have won 6 or 7 games last year. They were competitive in almost every game. The Raiders were competing to get 1 first down every game. It was a joke that they were even considered an NFL franchise.I've always thought that any NFL team could handily beat any college team, but the '06 Raiders were the only team to ever make me think twice about that. Watching that team just made you cringe. They scored 3 points or less FIVE TIMES. Watching a Dolphins game was usually a good game until the last couple minutes when they inevitably blew it at the end. They lost 6 games by three points or less including an overtime game.

Seriously, does no one else remember that picture of Aaron Brooks someone posted with the bug eyes that totally epitomized their season?

I can not & will not defend this.

i Vote the 2001 panthers and the dolphins of last year.
I personally think this might have been the best of the bunch. The fact that this season was sandwiched between two 7-9 seasons causes me to believe that this one season was probably an aberration.I went with the Raiders, but I was tempted to vote Browns.

The 98 Eagles offense gives them a run for their money, the year before Reid took over. They averaged 10 ppg, got blanked 3 times, scored 3 points twice and only reached 20 once.

ADD: They did beat the Cardinals & Steelers however.
Ben was still seeing double and it took two pick 6's to give it to 'em.

The 2005 Texans were atrocious. They match up well with the suckage of the 2007 Dolphins. Most stat categories equal.

Too many people here with short memory. The 2007 Fins and 2006 Raiders weren't nearly as bad as some of the other teams.

I voted 2004 49ers, which would have been 0-16 if they didn't play in the same division as Arizona.
