Out of the stellar options listed above, who would you say is the worst starter in terms of individual talent?

Simms, guy has a good amount of talent, and he can probably match the elite QB's when it comes to having the ability to make the deep, intermediate, and short throws, but all of this doesn't mean much when you choke in game situations. He is a bundle of nerves in pressure situations. Get the guy some Xanax.

Collins is an average NFL QB who was thrown into a terrible situation. Only a QB like P.Manning would look talented with only a week or two in a new system.

I have only seen highlights of Frye and he looks like a potential keeper.

Carr never had a chance, he needs a new team, and one can only hope that his confidence isn't destroyed. Talent-wise, he is like Simms in that he is blessed with tools many QB's would love to have.

Brooks is a rich man's Simms, he just makes stupid reads.

if you have seen 1 offensive series of any of the titans games, you would pick COLLINS.... i'd rather have jeff george here!!!!

brooks is out with an injury and even then he's getting no help from his oline...

best answer? chris simms. he has no excuse.

also kind of interesting that Alex Smith and Philip Rivers have managed to stay off this list so far this season.

Chris Simms has amazing talent. As was mentioned above, his physical abilities rival those of many of the best QBs in the league. And he is a bright guy too. But he completely lacks the mental make up to be a starting QB in the NFL. Perhaps he can learn to be one, perhaps not.

I have been watching this guy for like seven years. He can look so good at times that it is scary. But he is absolutely the definition of un-clutch.

Which is why I dont understand the Titans not letting Volek get the gig. He did well in the past, give him a shot. It's not like Collins is going to win a game for them...

Had to go with carr. He is a total loser and will NEVER take the Texans to the playoffs....EVER.

Most of the rest have accomplished something other than JP Loserman but he is looking better than last year. Carr NEVER improves. Garbage time this week allowed him to pad his stats.

I love how at the end of last year Alex Smith would CERTAINLY be on this list. I love the guy and am gunning for him to have a great career

(note: there is no fantasy relation at all, just happy to see the guy succeed)

Brooks looked decent week 1 but his line was horrible. People hate him for mistakes in New Orleans, but that isn't fair. Brunnel and the whole Skins O looks bad now but will rebound.

I voted Losman.

Brett Farve should be on this list. He thru 29 Int's last year. He just not as good as he once was. I love the guy and am a big fan, that why it hurts to watch him go down with the ship.

i voted chrissy

i do find it interesting that 3 weeks ago losman and alex smith would have run away with the lead

You could really narrow this down to:Brooks, Brunell, Simms, PlummerI vote for Brunell :)
Brunell gets my vote too. He has enough assets on the offense to produce, but doesn't. He also has minimal physical ability. At least some of the other guys can make all the throws if needed.

As bad as Brooks has been, I don't think Peyton Manning would look good throwing behind Oakland's offensive offensive line.

Frye is perfectly capable of making plays. I don't see why he should be on this list. He is very good at not just scrambling to elude the rush, but once has he has done so, he has repeatedly demonstrated the poise to stop, collect himself, spot the open man, and throw him the ball for a big gain.

If anything, Frye is getting victimized by the fact that some passes are bouncing of receivers hands. Edwards had one go off his and it landed in the hands of a Bengal last week. 3 of his interceptions really weren't his fault - and its not like Frye is hitting the other team in the hands with the ball and they are dropping it, either.

I can't tell you if Frye will ever be an elite QB in the NFL, but he definitely has tools and abilities. I can see why they like him.

For the record, I wasn't singling out any certain players with the list of QBs in the poll...I just picked names that were either involved in some sort of QB controversy in late preseason/recent news stories, are averaging less than 1 TD/game, making multiple turnovers, or have some history of poor performance.

Hate to say it, but it's gotta be Brunell. How can you not have decent numbers throwing it to Santana Moss, B. Lloyd, Randel El and Cooley? With all his experience, he's making rookie type mistakes and that just should not happen at the point where he is in his career.

At least the other QB's have some out's since they might only have one/two decent WR/TE's. Add that some of the other QB's are far younger and wet behind the ears...BRUNELL has got to be at the top!

Why in the world is David Carr on this list?Because he's 0-2?
Probably something to do with 17-45 overall

So being #2 in the league in passer rating after playing two good defenses means nothing at this point?

Well in my case with Frye I felt I should say something because, well, who besides me here actually watches Browns games lol?

If you watched him Sunday you would realize he doesn't belong on this list. Even if he's not as good as he once was he's still better than the fodder on this list.

I will let his coach tell you what it means.
(on why he believes QB David Carr does not deserve blame) “We’re all to blame. When we don’t win, we all lose, as a group, coaches and players. Good things happen when we win as a team and it’ll always be that way. David sets his performance, in the past two weeks his numbers are very, very good. You guys can tell by looking at the quarterback ratings and those type of things, but we’re not after numbers. We’re after figuring out a way to win. That’s the way I coach David, and David knows that. He’s got to be a consistent player. He played unbelievable the fourth quarter yesterday, but he’s got to play well in those first three for our football team to have a chance; he’s got to be a four-quarter player. I’ll keep coaching him to become that, but he is getting better as a player. but just getting better sometimes isn’t good enough. You’ve got to take big steps. We’re after him to take big steps and plan on him doing that.”
