I think the Giants are a unique situation. The team that won the Super Bowl is not the same team that was on the field in the middle of the season. All of the numbers seem to indicate that they are measurably the worst winner, but I would argue that not many other teams were able to overcome the injuries and personnel changes that the Giants did and still make it to the Super Bowl. I'm sure there are other teams that were in similar position, but fell short in the playoffs. Just as an observation, the '05 Steelers took a similar road to the Super Bowl, but beat a mediocre Seahawks team in unimpressive fashion. I would say that the Giants of this year would have easily beat that team, so I can't say they are the worst. Finally, if the Giants win another Super Bowl in the next couple of years with Eli, Jacobs, Umenyiora, Coughlin, etc. the perception of this year will change for the better.
