As much as I like McNabb, I think he time in Philly is over... not because of a skills on his behalf( I'm one who thinks he's still not even close to back to form) but because I feel that the HC doesn't put him in/or surround him with the talent that best uses his skillset.Mcnabb is not good enough to win a Super Bowl in this offense. PERIOD. Philly is beyond settling for 9-7 or 10-6 seasons, all they want is the Super Bowl. Mcnabb had his run, but it's over...he's not going to get us there, not in this offense in this city. So we might as well move on. He's not going to succeed in Philly. There are tons of teams who hold onto guys out of loyalty like Marino, Steve McNair, Brett Favre, etc..guys that are never going to get you to the next level.Consider that teams can spend 20+ years looking for even a decent long-term solution at QB. The Cardinals have been looking for 20 years, since Lomax in the 80s. The Redskins have been looking for 20 years since Thiesmann in the 80s. Colts looked for 20 years before finding Manning. The Bears and Lions have been looking for stability at QB since at least the 1950s. The Buccaneers have never had a true franchise QB in team history. You could even argue the Jets have never had a franchise QB in their history since Namath didn't have an incredible career but just one incredible win in super bowl III.McNabb is a franchise QB. That is an extremely rare commodity. You don't just dump one to another team. There's every reason to think the Eagles won't find a replacement until 2027, or 2057. The odds are far better that McNabb rebounds and plays better in future years than they are that the Eagles will find someone his equal. I'd live with the ups and downs and ride him into the ground, like the Pack is doing with Favre.
