I remember reading that RBs and WRs are similarly predictable for season stats. Wonder how they compare for weekly predictability? Would think that it's easier to predict RBs as there is a strong correlation to winning. However, WRs can get their points early in a win or disappear as it gets out of hand. WRs can get shut out in a lopsided loss or catch 6 balls on a meaningless drive down by 2 TD in two minute drill practice.
Of course I'm simplifying but if proven true there would be the following implications for drafts/auctions:
Take 2-3 stud WRs and play them regardless of matchup knowing they have high variation on a per game basis.
Take 5-6 cheap RBs and play them on a situational basis. Be active on the WW at this position even if it's only a one week plug-and-play candidate.
