WR Antonio Brown, FA (2 Viewers)

Depends how much of that $70M was spent.
Yep.

Different scale I know but I worked with guys who made in the 500K range for 6-8 years and then were having their house foreclosed on 6 months after the 2008 meltdown.  Always shook my head on that one.

Hopefully he has a cushion left. For some stupid reason I don’t want to see the guy totally F himself.

Brown can't be cut and claimed on the same day and the league doesn't process contracts on Sundays. So he can't sign anywhere until Monday. Meaning he won't be playing in a Sunday game this week. Theoretically, one of the teams playing on MNF could sign him on Monday and have him suit up that night . . . but that seems like a long shot.

One hour... and this lunatic will have somebody throwing millions of dollars at him again... THAT'LL SHOW HIM!

I think he might just retire
I hope you’re right.  Otherwise, I’m not sure how I explain to my kids that they need to be people of their word and honor their agreements.

“So all I have to do is act like a spoiled, psychotic baby and I get my way?  Nice!”

He made his own YouTube video, which he obviously paid for a production company to edit.  That’s not the mentality of someone retiring.

I think he’s trying to make himself a brand, Kanye style. What’s the biggest market that needs WR?

Haven't had time to read the last several pages but after catching up with the events of the past few hours...

Obviously this is all on AB. He brought it all.on himself.

But in the end after what looked like a possible de-escalation and an attempt to move forward the team informed him none of his contract was guaranteed moving forward. His request for and acceptance of release was guaranteed at that point. Was that necessary? Couldn't they have at least gave it a couple weeks?

Again AB caused this BUT not sure Oakland sent the right messages at the end. Seems very mixed messages with Gruden supporting and the front office firing off fines and ultimatums.

Did you miss the video with Gruden's secretly recorded conversation?

This was on page 77 at the start of today...now page 89 with no end in sight.

BTW, just got a trade offer (dynasty PPR) involving Brown.  I would sent Todd Gurley for Brown and a 2020 1st.

Go ahead & tell them the whole story.  That you wanted Kamara & Brown for Gurley & Hunter Henry.

Legal weed market?

Keywords from Drew R. "Free Agent for the first time in his career" ... All these star NBA players making moves in the off-season and choosing their destiny ... AB wants to join a SB bound team and show he's Great.. Raiders are garbage... Steelers sent him there to Rot away

Something I wasnt considering, because I don't do Twitter....I heard it on talk radio this AM.....he can't handle the negativity on social media...like Kevin durant on steroids.....that video says it all....he feels misunderstood....he's an eccentric diva who can't understand why people are down on him.

I had him on my DND list based on situation (Carr is horrible) and his diva tendencies....as all this has unfolded, I felt justified......I'm sort of seeing the opportunity here though.....I believe in his mind, he is going to go out and prove the haters wrong....someone will  give him a chance, and if it's the right sitch, it could be fantasy gold...we know how hard he works and his obvious talent....of course, he coul just as easily be hanging out with kaep playing X box and eating hot pockets.

Wasn't he on the Steelers? Pretty sure they were SB contenders every year.

He had the best situation for his "brand" in Pittsburgh... what other QB on a contender has that "just go long and I'll chuck it" mentality of Ben Roethlisberger... AND be able to pull it off.

He will see a serious drop in his star power no matter where else he lands.

Dude just wanna win. He even said so on The Shop with LeBron. I believe it. Idk if that means Pat's, but he'll go somewhere that's a contender.

If I was in his situation and found out that Carr couldn’t hit him, I’d probably do this.  If he wants to be the GOAT.  I remember back to a WR in Jax (can’t remember who) that they were fed up Bortles couldn’t get him the ball even in practice.

Can't blackball an all-world talent. It can work with a fringe talent like Kaep but no way with AB.
He won't be blackballed. But his value is going to be less than his Raider's contract was. Any team taking him on knows he is a head case to manage--if you can't co-exist with Gruden and the Raiders you must really have problems. Plus, he is coming onto market when season is set to start and teams have their plans and their rosters set and he will have to learn playbbook and adjust to new QB. Given his age as well, I think his value will be far less.  I wouldn't sign him unless the contract had provisions like no social media use, and if he misses games for bad conduct he voids the rest of the contract. I am guessing most GMs will require similar protections. And total value will be less than it was.

" I will not rest until I have you holding a Coke, wearing your own shoe, playing a Sega game *featuring you*, while singing your own song in a new commercial, *starring you*, broadcast during the Superbowl, in a game that you are winning, and I will not *sleep* until that happens. I'll give you fifteen minutes to call me back."

I don't think there was much interest in AB when the Steelers were shopping him. So he's now going to be in demand after all this?

I dunno about that.

Not a bad take.

He will be a patriot or Raven or something like that before the sun goes down.  I have to think he is wanting to go to a contender who can stick it to the Steelers in A big way.  Wouldn't be surprised if he is on the New England sideline looking at how old teamsunday night
