WR Calvin Ridley, TEN (4 Viewers)

Would love to drop him, but am worried the Titans eventually figure it out. The schedule has been pretty brutal to open the season (DEN, LAR, HOU, IND). Three of those are top 10 defenses on the year. Who knows how IND finishes, but they are also top 5 in TOP this year. So the opportunities aren't plentiful against them.

The optimist in me looks at the week 10 bye and an improvement for the offense in the second half of the year. A potential bump if/when Callahan gets fired and the slight possibility Ridley gets traded. Ridley only had 1 good week, in the first 8 weeks of the season, last year. He finished wr34 (half-ppr leagues), not ideal but much better than where he is currently ranked.
You won't start him.
Trade him for whatever or sit on him.
Right now , his prior play is just going to make you think about starting him.
In my experience we miss the rare good games on these types, sit the other weeks, and wish we traded them away
Sitting on waivers. Would be my #4 WR. Tempted.

Oh how I recall the fantasy experts saying, "What if Cam Ward is good? It can't be worse than last year. Can only go up right?"
That kind of quote was ringing in my ear when I chose between Ridley and Odunze on Draft Day. I chose ... poorly

I meant to post the clips, sorry.
Last week he was running in place "get your knees up" type on the sideline. Clearly he was needing to loosen some muscle up.

He's rested. He wasn't "that bad."
I would guess he plays

Radio host opining "what if they say 'nah we're good, rest up'" is an interesting little jab that is kinda due to him. That's the only even twistable way I imagine him sitting.

He's well supported. He's put in a great position. He gives tremendous effort. BUT the results are meager. I would consider the zing this week but NFL teams don't usually do that.

I need to buy a “fell for it again!” button to wear around with this dude’s face on it. I got him as a toss-in on a deal last year, but could have used the depth piece. He’s just not play-able.

This morning I "sabotage dropped" Ridley in order to pick up Keon Coleman.

Due to injures and bye week woes, I was going to be forced to start Ridley this week as my WR2, and just couldn't stomach it. Ridley won't clear waivers until Monday morning. Hopefully he does just enough against the Cardinals to lure in some bidders next week.

Titans WR Calvin Ridley, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a knee and elbow injuries, is likely to play vs. the Cardinals, but the team still needs to see how he feels pre-game first, per source.

I think I have to do the same. It’s either him or Hunter Henry. Henry has actually been productive and I think I’d start him as a flex over Ridley most weeks. With the tight end injuries, I also see Henry being picked up over Ridley.

Fun game, eh? I'm still reeling over the bonehead Emari Demercado drop that made Ridley's big day possible, and blew up multiple survivor pools for me.

85 of his 131 yards on 2 deep passes in the 4th quarter. This is still an offense that has 2 passing tds through 5 games.

He wasn't the main guy. He wasn't the WR1 teams must stop or else.
Jags fans were once adamant about this. Why can't they incorporate the others and go back to him?

It was Gunnar in the fourth Q and I don't know that he can handle the attention but it looks like he can.
If so, Ridley becomes more Desean Jackson like which may suit him just fine. Don't rely on him but every now n then he's going to try and break your back with a big chunk play.

He's a real big deal. A leader. One of the hardest workers and an absolute specimen of an athlete. It's a big morale killer when he drops a pass. It's not like just anyone did. He's supposed to be the man.
And playing winded- the limited role wasn't all that limited but we didn't see him hands on hips winded on the sideline most of the game. Maybe that right there was his exact number of plays he should be in on.

A wise team would shift him into this secondary role and maybe even think how he can run like the wind so who knows how many years he could continue to do this for.

I don't know that my Titans will do this. They may go right back to those 7-8 yard quick routes that he either can't beat the CB on or can't handle the darted pass. You know it's abnormal to be glad the way we are that a WR caught a pass right? Maybe we don't have that feeling too.

I'm really hoping age finally puts this guy in a role he can do well.

Elic's play screams that he's a very complimentary fun guy to run with. He too can benefit and look real good feeding off someone else getting the attention.

I'm strongly hoping Gunnar is this team's Delanie. Things fall into place so nicely if he is.
Maybe Dike and Oliver come in and break some backs too with deep shots from Cam.
We'd have a real offense and genuine depth and a nice setup
This isn't the Cincy way though. Coach is a 3WR guy, not a TE heavy guy

Do you think Ridley will continue to be fed or was this an aberration game?

This can go one of 2 ways. Cam tasted his first success in the league when slinging it ad lib this week which happened to include Ridley on big gains. He can keep doing that knowing it worked. Other option is coaches tell him not to do that and go back to the plan (which hasn't been working).

I think he's been a few for 40-50 most weeks. He was last week too except for two late deep shots.

I think it's that old Einstein insanity quote and bad coaches do the same thing over n over expecting different results. I think he'll be just like weeks 1-4 and we'll all complain how bad the offense looks.

The shutout by the Callahan coached defense was changed. The line blocking great was a shocker.

I don't think so because 21 of 22 weeks into his coaching career, Callahan forces everything regardless of talent.

1 of 22 weeks he adapted and was well thought out.

I think it's similar to "will Fields be a field general and lead them well again?" One time isn't convincing me.

I'm not starting Ridley. If I get burned I'll be ok with that.
I'm really pushing trading him in FF after that game. It's just one but... I'd like to move on

Judging by this thread, I think there are several people probably doing the same thing.
