WR DJ Moore, CHI (9 Viewers)

Did anyone lose points on his fumble last night(last play of the game?). I see CBS sports counted it.

I won by 5.18 points with Hockenson going and facing DJMoore. I was sweating the whole night right up through the Bears last red zone opportunity where DJ got clocked and where he fumbled on the last play. Not to mention Caleb overthrowing him when he was wide open.

Caleb Williams is killing the prime of DJ Moore’s career
And maybe Odunze's young career. Caleb doesn't make many throws based on timing and anticipation. Odunze's 2024 highlights include mostly catches on broken plays and scrambles, similar to the nice sideline catch by Rome while Caleb was on the run. It's still early.

Somebody on this board self-reported (and he's been around for a long time) that he lost by .15 because of it.

That's terrible.
ESPN has me down by .5 pts but did not deduct my opponent’s (DJ Moore) fumble.
My opponent had both DJ Moore and Odunze. Currently 99.76 vs 99.22 (1/2 ppr)

Burden will be a thing eventually imo. I think Odunze is the best receiver in CHI, but I am not sure Caleb can maximize his game (Bagent). In dynasty Moore is a tough sell as it is a cloudy situation. In redraft I would look to buy because his value is fairly low now and if Caleb gets things right there is upside in how they employ DJ. Next year he may be gone if they decide Burden is a thing.

Surprised so many are down on Moore. I still really like him. Caleb is meh but that system will start to click at some point and Moore should be their WR1 still.

Moore should have had that easy 40+ yard TD.

Yeah he should have but his QB sucks which is the point
That's how I'm starting to feel as someone who took Odunze as the 38 WR in my league, whereas Moore was drafted at 21. So, not as much regret.

Caleb teased us in 3 or 4 games in 2024, and the start of the Lions game. I'm still hopeful that he'll improve during the season.

Please stop running plays with this dude at RB - the CeeDee injury will play in my brain every time DJ takes a handoff.

The picture is becoming clearer how DJ will be used in the Ben Johnson offense, and it's not inspiring. In PPR he'll always be a high floor WR 2-3 no matter where he is, but I think the days of him being a trusted week-in week-out volume scorer seem to be at a close. He's going to pop off one of those 8/100/2 type days a couple of times, but not enough to rely on it happening.

DJ is also better than anyone on this team when it comes to adjusting on a broken play (which is one of Caleb's strengths) so he will always have "real life" value in this offense.

His usage is puzzling. Not sure if it's coaching or Caleb.
I really thought he had the opportunity to be ARSB lite in this offense.

Odunze, Burden, and the 2 TEs are good receivers. Caleb is not Goff, who throws with more anticipation.

Odeunze and Luther are better than Detroit's #2 and #3 WRs. I'm not convinced Odunze will continue his pace, there's a good chance Moore is the #1 WR some weeks. He's probably the best route runner. BTW, Odunze caught many passes last year during Caleb's off-schedule scrambling plays.

Moore just looks like an after-thought in this offense (especially in the first halves). There were already a lot of mouths to feed but now here comes Luther to eat away at some of that pie.

DJ's a pro and he's going to do his thing. He won't sulk about not getting the ball, he'll just keep putting in work. He'll always be in line for 4-8 catches depending on the flow of the game. He will have a consistently high floor.

I also think Johnson just has more fun scheming for the younger guys who can get open faster as part of Caleb's first read.

I think it's more about Caleb. I think he and DJ Moore don't have the rapport unfortunately. I think it showed some last year, but it was easy to brush that off as Caleb was a "rookie". I too thought DJ could be ASRB elite in this offense because the talent is there, and he is still young enough to have not reached his peak yet. I also agree that Caleb does not anticipate throws as well. He likes to go "off script". I do think Ben Johnson knows DJ Moore's value, and it was evident in game 3 where he made a point to make sure DJ Moore got the ball after not getting any throws his way throughout the first half. I like that he is involved in the running game as well as he has the potential to have some "Deebo Samuel" type games.

Unfortunately, unless there are any injuries or unless Ben Johnson makes even more of a point to get DJ Moore involved early and often I don't see this getting much better. As throughout most of his career he has been screwed over by the QB play. In this case, the QB is solid, but doesn't appear to have the "chemistry" with him. We can speculate all day on the reasons as to why, but Caleb does not appear to look for him "when it matters", which is concerning.

I think at best he is a #3 WR the rest of the way. If there are any injuries that I can see him being a solid #2. At worst he is a flex play. I hate it for him. He has also been the type of WR you want on your team, is the model of consistency, but has never had the right situation (minus the Fields year).

Maybe it will get better though, it's only been 3 weeks and if they want to keep winning they need to get him more involved as he is such an important weapon. 🤷‍♂️

I have Moore in one league and tried to trade for him earlier this year in another. Boy I am glad I didn't because I can't trust any Bears fantasy player these days.

Underdog NFL
DJ Moore will stay overnight in the DC area for precautionary medical attention.

He left the stadium in an ambulance postgame.
That doesn't sound good. He was wincing on the sideline late in the game, but I'm pretty sure he was on the field for the game winning FG drive.
Wonder if it’s some type of internal injury
Rumour is lacerated kidney.

Reading on lacerated kidneys, if that's truly what he has, it sounds like it will come down to if he needs surgery on it to stop the bleeding. No surgery and it could just be a couple weeks of missed time. Surgery likely means he's done for this year.

According to some online doctors, this was a testicle injury.
Thoughts and prayers. I'm not kidding. ☹️
Testicle? Isn't that pretty rare? Does not sound good at all, long term problem?
I can’t even imagine how bad the testicle problem is that you need to be rushed to the emergency room. I also can’t imagine ever playing football again after something like that.
RIP. I will show myself the door...

In 2009, Nicklas Lidstrom suffered a severe testicle injury after being speared by Patrick Sharp of the Chicago Blackhawks during the NHL playoffs. The injury required surgery, causing him to miss Game 4 of the Western Conference final. Despite the pain, which he called the worst he'd ever experienced, Lidstrom returned for the Stanley Cup Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins less than a week after his operation

Besides Lidstrom, Datsyuk and Zetterberg were hurt too but Bettman moved up the finals 4 or 5 days to give Crosby a better shot at the Cup <end bitter rant>
