WR for week 9 (1 Viewer)

Considering the bye week and matchups this week, who are the 2nd and 3rd tier type WRs that step up this week to make a difference?

In the waiver gem thread Levin said something about A. Bryant getting double digit targets this week.

In large leagues (14+), if S. Moss is out then Randel El or Lloyd may have a decent day albeit against a stings Cowboy secondary

Lee Evans is a 2nd/3rd tier WR that should do well against Green Bay.
I was noticing that they have been tinkering with the O-Line and stated JP is staying in as Starting QB...Considering the matchup with GB, I think Roscoe will have more than that one big catch for a TD... looking at his sched, he seems to score something big once every few weeks. Coming off a bye and getting healthy, he's due again for a few opps for the big play...

Lee Evans frustrates the hell out of me. I can never seem to play him at the right time. That being said, Green Bay has been pretty terrible against the pass, though they looked better last week holding down the Cardinals receivers for the most part. The peculiar thing about Green Bay is that they seem to do a pretty good job of covering their opponents primary receiver (Evans in this case). Combine all of that with Evans boom or bust nature, and I am seriously thinking about opting for Antonio Bryant instead.

With Buffalo sure to try and take advantage of the Packer pass D I think Favre will be in the mood to play "turn about's fair play" and will look to his rookie Jennings who should be good to go this week-end after missing last week's game ...

The good news, all three of my WR2 candidates have been mentioned in this thread (Bryant, Evans, and Jennings), the bad news? I'm virtually guaranteed to pick the wrong one. Yeah, yeah,... :ptts: :bag:

Please post your pick of the three so we know which one to avoid. Thanks in advance! :D

Here's a link from the same site that says Woodson likely won't play ????

Edit: Just looked at the dates of the articles - yours is more recent

With Evans and Jennings, I'd almost like to take a 'wait and see' approach with both of them this week. For Jennings, I'd like to see if he is truly healthy and not being used just as a decoy. For Evans, I would like to see if Buffalo's offensive line issues have been addressed and whether Losman's decision making has gotten any better.

Right now I'm leaning Antonio Bryant, so I would recommend no one else start him. :D

If Brandon Lloyd's ever going to do anything this season, this is probably going to be the week with Moss doubtful.

Amani Toomer
David Dodds ranked Toomer 18th WR this week - I'd have had the over on that even with Plex healthy. We all know how unpredictable Toomer can be in terms of fantasy #s. Well, it's been three weeks since Toomer put up numbers worthy of an FF start, so I am thinking about some huge numbers for him this week - I expect all three of Barber, Shockey and Toomer to have big days.

I agree with Bryant, not Battle.I agree on Mason - McNair def. leans on Mason more. And Cincie's pass D is actully very good, so it is more likely that McNair will look for Old Faithful.Like Jones, don't like Williams. (Edit to add - just over 4 targets a game aint gonna do it. On the other hand, Williams played his best when Jones was also healthy and available).Hate R. Smith this week - targets way down, defensive battle brewing, one or two big plays - not lots of passes - will produce the fantasy numbers in the pass game - that walker's teritory, not Smith's.

1) A. Bryant (seems like he is due again)

2) I. Bruce (lots of opportunities in this game)

3) M. Furrey (not sold 100%, but why not?)

Dark horses

4) A. Lelie (it's the Lions)

5) D. Gabriel (Brady will find someone)

T Williamson

L Evans

B Edwards

....

Mark Clayton

....

Michael Clayton

all these guys are on my FBG Contest roster and one or possibly two of them will go strong to support TJ Championship and maybe Terry Glenn.

thanks for the feedback Marc. I think this may have been a sentimental pick. Pittsburgh's secondary can be picked apart and I'm thinking they may try to take Walker away with double teams and concede Smith. I also could be in denial here. I feel he is the result of Plummer's ineffectiveness. Eventhough it appears he's the possesson guy now, I still feel he will rebound for a strong second half. call me crazy... :loco:

How about Jacobs?

Could be a sneaky flex play for those 4th Q, garbage stats, but I wouldn;t consider him in a start-2 league.
