WR Jameson Williams, DET (2 Viewers)

Only scores when I bench him. Started him this week after I swore I never would again. My season’s in the tank at this point so I don’t care, he’s my flex every week going forward (apart from the bye of course). So you can bench him with confidence, he’s not scoring any points the rest of this season as long as he’s in my lineup.
If your season is in the toilet, can you bench him please? Help a brother out!

I haven't had a chance to run the #s but it seems the Lions are running a lot more than they did last year and also targeting ASRB a lot more than last year as well.

Goff has tunnel vision to Amon Ra. Now Amon Ra is one of the best WR in the league, but I don't understand how DET won't scheme to get Jameson a big play or two every game.

I was at the game last night. I watched Williams a lot, he was not open much. The one route Williams cut to the middle would have been a long TD had Williams just kept running straightforward as he was 5 yards behind defender.

Right now, Gibbs, St Brown, LaPorta get the looks first. Williams is not the prototype sharp route running timing WR that St Brown is. I think he will have a big game here and there but do not expect good week to week FF production.

Williams is more important to what the Lions do "clearing out the underneath stuff " by running deep routes rather that what FF teams need out of him.

Regarding ARSB, I heard quite a few analysts rank him highly this week bc the Bucs struggle to defend the slot. Since their defense is a pass funnel I also foolishly thought Jamo would get some benefit out of that situation too. And I was wrong again.

On pace for 41-702-5 for the season, right in that fantasy WR46 overall range. Man! I’m so glad I took this guy instead of GWilson or Olave or Pickens in my rookie draft three years ago! I’m not in any leagues that reward points for blocking and routes run without a target, but if I were, I’d be killing it with Jamo!

Not one, but 2 start-ups in the 6/7 round. Thought I’d gotten a bargain. That was when the hype was only a murmur. After I drafted him it built to a roar. “Expanded route tree” they said. “No one can cover him” they said. “The league better look out!” They said. “They” being coaches, teammates, beat writers. It wasn’t even FF analysts hyping him up in the beginning.

That’s what makes this so galling. In one dynasty league he’s my WR5 so nbd. In another I just dealt for Davante “about to be 33” Adams to make Jamo my WR5. I can live with his inconsistency as a boom or bust flex or bench player. I can’t count on him at all for a weekly floor. And again, after an entire offseason of hype that’s just so maddening.

He has been a :poop: sandwich. I don't know if he is more than that but the negative stats are starting to "pile" up. Can't trust him in line-ups and can't trade him or use him. :tumbleweed:
I tried to acquire him in my other 3 leagues in the off-season, and was told by 3 different owners that he was untouchable.

Bullets dodged, but it’s wild how far/fast he’s fallen.

I guess "they" didn't include Jared Goff.

Actually I’m pretty sure he was also “they”.

I've always questioned his work ethic and his competitiveness (was challenged at tOSU and fled). Does Jamo have a poor, limited route tree too?

None of this is why Jamo has been bad at fantasy this year and mostly false. He is very competitive and works hard. He is a good blocker. Lazy and non competitive wrs don't block. He is passive aggressively posting on social media that he is bored, because he isn't getting the ball. His route tree and route running is average for and NFL wr, but he has a gear that only a handful of wr can reach.

The problem is he is at best third in the pecking order for the Lions and rightfully so, ARSB and Gibbs demand 30 touches/targets between them every week. The Lions also aren't putting up the video game numbers from last year. If he was on another team I guarantee he would have better numbers.

Finally he was a first round NFL pick and we expect a lot of those guys, he just isn't that.

I've been highly critical of Jamo but I don't think the bolded here is fair. Plenty of players have left after having their path to playing time blocked and found success. Joe Burrow couldn't beat out J.T. Barrett and Dwayne Haskins at Ohio State so he transferred to LSU and it was the best decision he could make. Jamo was stuck behind Wilson, Olave, and JSN. Transferred to Alabama and helped them get all the way to the national title game as their top WR. He is not as good as those three (which I made the mistake of thinking otherwise coming out of the Draft). He'll never reach his full potential as a Detroit Lion, and it's a shame because I really believe he could be electric as another team's WR1.

Just dropped in my 10 team league for Brian Robinson (who was dropped on waivers). Now, I'm sure it's just sloppy play and not paying attention when putting in the pick-up into Sleeper, but the guy who dropped him has an empty bench spot, so the JaMo drop looks extra savage.

Thinking about dropping him in my 12-team PPR where he's barely started for me all year (I have Lamb, Keenan, Doubs and Pearsall). I don't want to, but trying to pick up the Rams D before waivers run, and he's the most droppable guy on my bench at the moment (only alternative would be Bam Knight, who has at least one more game as starter -- against Dallas -- before Benson is due to come off of IR).

If I knew he wouldn't get picked up, I would drop Jamo in a second and then try to get him back later. But I am a little worried

The league in which I own him starts 22 - 11 idps, lots of flex options on offense. I can start 3-5 wrs. I have started him every week. The team is 5-3 in 4th place and has potential. I'm starting him again this week. Stubborn, stupid, whatever. I could drop him to cover another position since our benches are tight making byes challenging. Tre Tucker, Christian Watson and X Hutchinson are on waivers. Tucker is going to be expensive, maybe Watson too. Anyway, I think about Detroit's O, the bye covered, Jameson's potential, and I'm going to be the last man standing with this dude. I need to start 5 wrs this week. It's going to be fun when he explodes. Maybe he's my secret league winner. Most league's aren't like this so I get giving up. This is a tough decision, but I believe in that offense and well... I'm with Jamo... still... stubborn and stupid.
