WR Jayden Higgins, HOU (1 Viewer)

Uh Oh, Kirk is likely not playing Week 1 according AS

-Higgins was not getting rave reviews in camp or wasn't leaping anyone on the depth charts but suddenly here we are and Higgins could be the No 2 target at WR starting this week.
I almost put it in the flag plant thread, but decided 6 things was enough, but I think Jaylin Noel>Jayden Higgins. I also think he's the more likely 1-1 Kirk replacement.

Higgins was already starting opposite Collins with Kirk in the slot. Kirk being injured means more opportunities for Noel than it does Higgins, since Higgins already had a role. Now he might see more targets between the two rookies as opposed to Kirk possibly commanding more attention, but his playing time won't be altered by this news.

Wait - wasn’t Higgins a camp darling?
I thought I heard he wasn't progressing quite as fast as they wanted and you would see Kirk getting targets after Collins, that could change quickly

Correct, Higgins has taken Diggs spot from last year on the outside. Kirk was holding down the slot since Tank is out and may never be the guy he once was with Noel the understudy for the slot. So this means Noel may see more opportunities this weekend. However Braxton Berrios may be out this weekend too which likely means Noel will be returning punts. May impact his # of snaps at WR

Any value in this guy this year? Worth holding onto? Texans look like they may have the worst o-line in football. Higgins is not a great separator and Kirk will be back soon.

Probably not but also it's week 1 and he was the 34th pick in the draft so it wouldn't be surprising if he ends up being a factor at some point

For all the preseason hype, that whole Texans passing game looked like hot garbage. Stroud with a buck eighty eight & a pick?

Nico targeted 5x, and managed 3/25?

Yuck. When Dalton Schultz outplays Nico Collins, something very wrong is happening with your offensive scheme. Rams are a very good defense, but they’re not that good.

The league may well have the book on Stroud. Early in the season, small sample size, sure - but this seems like a continuation of 2024. Eerily similar line to his 12/25 game against BAL.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned as a Nico shareholder. Wish I’d taken a couple of the offers I had for him this offseason.
