WR Julio Jones, Retired (1 Viewer)

Didn't Julio have a screw in his foot to start the year last year too? I'm just wondering how that screw will affect him as the season wears on.
It's my understanding he's had a screw in his foot since he came into the league; it was there from the broken bone prior to his rookie year.

he probably won't play much more tonight. Shame that TB couldn't keep this reasonable or he could have gone for an EPIC night when all is said and done.

This is why Julio never budged from my top-5. Can't believe there were people who thought he might never be the same.
I can see bumping him down because of increased risk with the foot.

But worth every penny I paid for him in auction so far. He and Jordy were money well spent to this point.

These ####### stats..

"Julio has 64 receptions for 945 and 5 TDs in his past 8 starts."

"Julio Jones has avg'd 22.5 fantasy pts/game since start of 2013 (8 games) using @ESPNFantasy PPR scoring. Josh Gordon avg'd 22 last season."

Told my wife last night Julio may score 40. She didn't know what the hell that meant and looked at me funny. He was close.

Last year he was leading at WR after five weeks. I made a bet with my brother in our one player keeper league that Julio would finish top 5 (barring injury).the winner gets to choose between Megatron and McCoy next year. It may not matter. He keeps this up, he will be my designated keeper next year. (Got him round two FWIW ten team league)

Got him in 1 of my 2 leagues and would've made sure to get him in the other one as well, if I'd had an early draft pick and swung back round to 15-20th pick in round 2.

Guy is an absolute beast when fit.

Well...so far wr/wr is looking pretty solid on all counts.
I have Julio in 3/7 leagues.

In one he is paired with Graham; in another (long story short) I traded Graham for Julio and also took Peyton and Julius. One of the leagues without Julio I opened Calvin/Nelson/Gronk. Who needs to take a RB in the first few rounds? These teams are doing just fine. :)

i just closed a deal for julio last night and then read this today... hope it is nothing... did anyone notice any time missed last week during the game that could explain this LP practice today? hope its a vet maintenance day

Julio Jones (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

The Falcons are just managing his reps. Jones is a top-five receiver option despite a difficult matchup with the Giants in Week 5. Oct 1 - 4:04 PM

I wouldn't worry too much. He was limited 2 weeks ago on Wed. for the ankle and was back at practice Thursday.

Rotoworld:

Julio Jones was spotted "slowly dragging his left foot" as he left the locker room Monday afternoon.

Thankfully, this is not the foot that Jones has had two surgeries on since 2011. It stems from a tweak sustained during the Week 4 loss at Minnesota and he's displayed his usual speed/explosion since then. Jones will likely be limited in practice this week before suiting up as a top-five option at Baltimore Sunday.

there was some other quote from mcclure that Julio seemed to be moving around ok at a charity bowling outing monday night. from what i saw sunday the straightline speed was there, but i cant comment on whether his cuts/breaks were sharp. i'm not sure if i should be more concerned that the falcons o-line is abysmal or julio's feet :(

The targets were there (12). Was he getting open and Ryan was simply off with his throws?

I realize that all WR's put up stinkers a couple times a season. I'm hoping it was just a bad day for the Falcons offense.

Julio (and the other receivers) had a case of the drops this week or he would have had a nice day. I think Julio had 3 drops and a fumble. Ryan's passes were a little off as well. The O-line is a concern, but Julio just put up over 100 yds with the same O-line last week.

I think the O-line is a bigger concern for the Falcons than Julio owners. The defense is still terrible, so he'll have plenty of opportunities playing from behind a lot.

ryan had zero time to pass... and this was against a bears d-line that had previously been terrible at generating pressure. Gabe Carimi is a swinging gate at RT and jake mathews was getting beat bad at LT last week. I read mathews is possibly still dealing with a high ankle sprain.

if 4-68 is his stinker game this year we should all consider ourselves lucky

The O-line definitely has some issues, but they weren't world-beaters to start the year either. Carimi is bad, but Lamar Holmes was pretty bad at RT as well. If Jake is still affected by the ankle, it's been that way since he returned in week 3, so that's nothing new.

Despite that, Julio has been producing all year, and would have continued last week if not for the drops. Just saying...having a crappy O-line is nothing new in Atlanta. It was probably worse last year when Julio was tearing it up before being injured.

They weren't straight drops though. Julio looked pretty scared of contact Sunday. He was getting roughed up pretty good and definitely short armed a few and took his eyes off a couple fearing a big hit.

I was tweeting out some Julio stats yesterday, but figured I'd share a few of them in the hype thread.

Antonio Brown currently owns the longest streak in history of consecutive 50+ yard games with 22. Julio Jones is 2nd among active players and 6th all-time with 17.

Julio Jones has 12 consecutive games with 4+ receptions and 60+ yards, which is two shy of the NFL record (set by Marvin Harrison during his 143-catch year). Antonio Brown currently has 10 such games. The week before Julio started his 60-yard game streak, he had... 59 yards.

Over his last 16 games, Julio Jones has 118/1642/10 receiving.

If you want to feel better about Julio, just come on into the A.J. Green / Calvin Johnson threads. You'll feel a lot better in no time!

Rotoworld:

Julio Jones secured 5-of-8 targets for 56 yards in the Falcons' Week 7 loss to the Ravens.

The Ravens made it a point to make Atlanta play without Julio, forcing Matt Ryan to feed Roddy White a game-high 15 targets. Struggling through ankle and foot injuries hasn't helped, but Julio remains a huge part of the Falcons' offense, and hasn't suddenly evaporated from WR1 discussion. He'll continue to be a must-start when the Falcons take on the Lions in Week 8.
