WR Julio Jones, Retired (2 Viewers)

I own this monster in 3 leagues, and even took him number 1 overall in 2 of those leagues.

While I am "semi" concerned, I also had him last year and these reports came out each and every week.

I just got used to them. Hopefully its not as bad as it may seem to be.

I know Hankerson seems to be the one to get, if Julio misses time.

But Roddy White is available in every league I know of for the most part at this point.

I really hate to say this, but if Julio is sat for this week, I think Roddy White could be someone we plug in and hope for something.

(obviously Hankerson is the one to get, but many of us don't have that luxury at this time)

Even though it pains me to say it, I would almost rather them sit him this week if the extended break would get him well again.

Knowing Julio though, he is likely to NOT be 100% the rest of the season, and seems to be a player that is always battling some kind of injury.

TZM

The only people concerned about Julio are the knuckles posting in this thread and turning a non-issue into a drama.

Nobody in the media or on the team is concerned including Julio himself. This has been going on since week 2 and you guys don't seem to get it.

He's a little banged up along with every other player in the NFL and he's seeing double and triple teams which is why Atlanta is running for 200 yds and 3 tds a week.

Things will even out and Julio will get his so relax.

In the meantime that fumble recovery was a nice bonus !
I agree that every player in one way or another is banged up. Yet by the view of Julio's body language I would say it looks more than a "little banged up." Did you see how he moved after that fumble recovery? I am a huge Julio fan and not trying to be a knuckle-head but I call it like I see it. I hope that Julio can continue to rise above whatever is visually hampering him.
He got the wind knocked out of him

Probable listing very confusing... Unless they know he'll play but also know he'll decoy
Played nearly the entire game last week... he said no set-backs afterwards. So he's probably playing.

I thought he looked good in highlights from last week. I didn't see the game live, but reading reports in the Shark Pool I thought I would see him hopping back to the huddle with his leg in his hand. The argument has been made that the lack of practice is affecting his timing with Ryan more than the injury at this point. Makes sense for a guy that's facing changing coverages compared to the first few weeks.

Maybe the probable listing is just a decoy ... maybe they meant Probably Doubtful or Probable to go on IR.

Has to be one of those ...it just has to be ?!?!?!? The guy can barely walk !!!!!

Obviously you're starting Julio if you don't have another stud to insert...but what if you do have another stud to insert. What if you had to choose between Julio and Foster? Or Julio and A.J. Green? I don't think Julio is a slam dunk for everyone.

OK maybe in a 2 team league I might bench him

Nope. You don't have to be in a 2 team league to have choices.
Sorry Id love to see the lineup one would roll out with one of Green, Julio, or Foster on the bench.

I don't see how that is a stretch if you took a Zero RB draft strategy. I could even see all 3 on the same team given the fact that Foster wasn't even sure to be on the field before week 5 when most drafts were happening. Nevermind. I just reread what you were implying.

Do not start Julio under any circumstances ... the news that he is probable and feels better now than he did last week is all a decoy.

They are going to roll him out to the field on a gurney and prop him up like weekend at Bernie's to draw double coverages.

A good team for sure. Good teams happens sometimes...even in leagues with more than 2 teams. Why would it be so difficult to fathom that in a 10 team league that drafted early, Foster was taken in the middle rounds and is currently a surplus stud?

Same question for you.

Don't overthink it. Start Julio.
Over whom? Foster or Green?
You can only start 2 x WR/RB ?
What difference does it make? If you could only start 2 of those 3 would an injured Julio still be the slam dunk no-brainer that you've been touting him as?
because you're obviously coming up with some stupid hypothetical
1. If it was a hypothetical there would be nothing stupid about it.

2. It's not a hypothetical.

Unreal that he "looks explosive".

Starting him with semi-confidence, but man did he look gimpy just a couple days ago.

"There are no preset limitations on Julio Jones coming into the game." - @KimJonesSports RE: Jones' hamstring
Said the exact same things before the Skins game, "looks explosive" etc etc. Let's hope they're right.

Did you watch the game? And see how bad Ryan's throws were?

No didn't see it. Don't doubt Ryan played poorly. I was referring more to his demeanor after catches that were more akin to a dude falling apart at the seams rather than an explosive athlete.

Yep. I'm starting to think they're referring to diarrhea.

If that's the case I bet I'm looking more explosive than Jones. Had mexican tonight.

Atl o line could not block 4 man rush... D Freeman running at will, but they couldn't pass block tonight. Julio looked fine, and was listed probable... Hope he feels even better next week

10 days off and coming off of 2 okay games. He's gonna be beasting again next week.

Actually, he's coming off 1 OK game and 2 lousy games (for a top 3 WR), but yeah, the 10 days should help him get right. From what I saw he wasn't able to get much separation on his go routes and he was being doubled on all of the short inside stuff. He wasn't limping around, but he was clearly not at full speed either. 10 days of rest should do wonders.
