WR Julio Jones, Retired (1 Viewer)

"No,'' Dan Quinn said when asked if he's satisfied with how much Julio Jones is getting the ball. ``No i'm not.'' Quinn mentioned that more offensive plays will help that situation, with Jones being such a dynamic player.

Julio Jones - WR - Falcons

Falcons coach Dan Quinn said Monday he is not satisfied with Julio Jones' usage to this point in the season.

"No," said Quinn when asked if he's satisfied with how often Julio is getting the ball. "No, I'm not." Jones has topped 70 yards in three of his last four games, but he has one red-zone target and zero touchdowns on the year. He whipped Dolphins CB Xavien Howard badly on Sunday, yet was only targeted seven times. Jones draws another favorable matchup this week against the Patriots.

Just dished him for Russel Wilson (super flex, 12 team, PPR redraft league).

I already have M.Evans, M.Thomas, Tyreek and Fitz so I think I can afford it.

This is week 7... I really don't see his production or usage changing at this point. Really, outside of one monster game, and a couple of other really productive games... this has been going on for 2 seasons in a row. I'm sure, like last year, he will have a couple games where he really blows up and makes his overall stats looks much better, but on a game by game bases, he is not an extremely productive fantasy WR.

but its a game like this that he will blow up...everything lines up perfectly

Didn't do much tonight until his garbage time padding points. Even his TD was an interception that he got lucky on, having good leverage.

Not sure what to do with this guy.  If the Falcons can't put up numbers against a pathetic D like the Pats . . .

Steve Sarkisian wants to use Julio more in the red zone

This is good news for Julio owners.

According to the Data Dominator Julio had 10 targets inside the 20 yard line last season (2TDs), tied for 53 rd among wide receivers.  Jordy Nelson led the league with 31 targets.

Inside the 5 he had 5 targets, tied for 15th most among WRs (Fitz led the league among WRs with 10 targets).

Falcons.com's Kelsey Conway reports the team has shown a "real emphasis" on getting Julio Jones more red-zone touches during camp.

New OC Steve Sarkisian said that was his goal all the way back in June. After being targeted just nine times in the red zone and six times inside the 10 last season, Jones should see more work near the goal line this year, which will hopefully allow him to score more than the six touchdowns he managed in 2016. Jones is locked in as a top-three fantasy receiver.

According to PFT, last night's "third-quarter shot was just the second time he was targeted in the red zone this year."

Considering there is nothing negative being said about the OC and we just had the "Oh we will get him more touches" quote... yuck. Most of his yardage and the TD was garbage time. I just traded for the  dude and I think I gotta put him on the block to see what I can get for him. This offense could barely score on the Patriots, it's just broken right now.

The Falcons look terrible. Yes, he scored (at this pace he will post 2 td’s over the entire  2017 season) in garbage time, but going forward he is not anywhere near the elite wr he was drafted to be...It is time to panic. If I were a Jones owner I would be doing my best to deal him.

Falcons have to fire the OC at some point to have a hope of saving the season, right? That's when I'd start feeling good about the offense again, because the new guy will force it to the playmakers

no luck involved in ripping the ball away from butler.  Julio is a beast.

I laughed watching him snatch the ball away from Butler in the end zone like someone stealing candy from a child. This is the guy that hasn't been getting RZ looks?  :lmao:

Maybe I am just a Julio fanboy, but over the years when he gets a red zone target, he seems to make an impressive play. I just don’t get it.

Matt Ryan doesn't throw it high enough to Julio on the red zone plays.  I believe Julio had 2 last night, at least 2 that I saw, one of them being a TD... but had Ryan tossed it higher, Julio wouldn't have had to make that beast play.

Great week to sell him.

Yeah but what could you get for him?  There's not many WRs who have been impressive this year. You're not getting AB, and why would an Evans/Thomas/Green owner do a straight swap for him?

Can't see any RBs who would be good value for him either in most leagues. I guess you could include him in a package.

I was thinking about offering the Jordan Howard owner. Howard hasn't been great either, but I can see him having much more success down the stretch in the cold.

Was just offered Chris Hogan, C.J. Anderson (declining snap count), and Fitz (no Carson Palmer) for Juilo....

That's kinda insulting to be honest.

In redraft it’s not. Dynasty sure.

Really? Don't see Fitz beasting with Drew Stanton, CJA fell below the 15 carry a game threshold with Siemian struggling. Hogan is ok but I'd need a better RB back. In case you may not know, Juilo's ROS sched is DELICIOUS.

Fwiw I offered Dez for Julio over the weekend. Mostly out of boredom rather than any conviction that Julio will get better. Sort of happy the other guy never replied.

When has Julio beasted this season? I'm just saying it's not insulting from my POV...  Hogan has outscored Julio in all my leagues so far and we're halfway through the season. I do hope Julio breaks out though.

what are you guys thinking this weekend @ NYJ. Their corners have actually been decent... but then again Dolphins just put up 31 points on them so who knows.

I love me some Julio, but I like the Nuk better now with an actual QB in town.
I do too, he's been great but HOU ROS is very tough and I'm worried defenses will start to figure out Watson. Meanwhile ATL's schedule is so juicy and they have so much talent...just need better play calling which seems fixable.

Don't make me go SoulFly on you.
Nuks just not as good as Julio. Younger so in dynasty makes some sense but he's just not as good and frankly I think Nuk's season has been vastly overrated in terms of how truly good he's been, he's just got a ton of volume and TD's.

His catch rate is 57% which is low in general but horrendous when you are at 10.3 YPC.

Let me put this in it's proper perspective. Nuk has scored 6 TD's and averages 1.71 fantasy points per target(PPR). Julio has scored one TD and averages more fantasy points per target, 1.73.  Even with a QB Nuk is just not in the same class.

Was offered Julio for my Nuk and Kamara...tempted.
I'd still prefer Nuk and Kamara over Julio however because Kamara more than makes up the difference and if Ingram ever got hurt Kamara would be a league winner, as is he's still a rock solid PPR RB2.

I don't play in redraft leagues that do trades but I'm in a dynasty league where Julio was traded 3 times last week, once for Nuk. This is FFPC rules, so TE premium and here are the 3 trades that all took place last week.

Demaryious Thomas, 2018 first and second-projected playoff team.

Julio for Nuk straight up.

OJ Howard, Golladay, and 2018#1-projected playoff for Julio and a projected late 2018#3.

I did the last deal for Julio and my only regret right now is the timing on Howard. I think had I done that deal today I might have at least been able to keep Golladay, but I don't mind paying what I did for Julio based on fact he's still a stud and he's just what my team needed.

Ryan is playing average football, Sark seems like a stunningly bad hire and Julio has been nicked up and is still IMO recovering from his hip flexor which specifically makes stop/starting  more difficult and in general can impact your explosion all of which is kind of huge for route running. All that and if you remove the game he left early he's put up double digits every week in PPR scoring and is no pace those 5 weeks for right at about 100/1400 for a whole season and people in here acting like he's used up?

they also are getting next to nothing out of TE Austin Hooper. Obviously some of the issue is the playcalling but Ryan has to shoulder some if this too.
