WR Julio Jones, Retired (2 Viewers)

This is why you have to start him every week. I could use a few more this game.

Atlanta's gameplan this week is to relentlessly target Julio Jones it seems. 7-10/162/2 and we are 2 minutes into the 3rd. Also took an end-around for a 15-yard run.

Always start your studs
I'm not a believer in that, but there was no reason to sit him IMHO. It was another cake matchup.

Holy crap Jones is getting targeted on routes I haven't seem him get all year. Quick slants, quick outs, bunch blocking formations... Jones is headed for 20 targets at this rate.

DANCE DANCE DANCE THE JULIO

Julio Jones caught 12-of-15 targets for 253 yards and two touchdowns in the Falcons' Week 12 win over the Bucs, adding a 15-yard rush.

Jones entered Week 12 with just one touchdown and zero 120-yard games. The rushing attempt was his first of the season. With the Bucs giving Jones a laughable amount of cushion, he ripped seams in their "defense" all day. Touchdown No. 1 was a 51-yard bomb delivered by Mohmamed Sanu. Sanu took a wild cat snap, faked a handoff and calmly delivered a rainbow to a tightly-covered Jones. Score No. 2 was a 25-yarder from Matt Ryan where Jones did most of the work, using fancy footwork to dive for the pylon. Amazingly, the 253 yards receiving were only the third most of Jones' career. He gets Xavier Rhodes and the Vikings for Week 13.

He will be covered by the X-Man next week I’m not sure what I’m going to do. Allen, Cooks and Hopkins might be the way to go next week.

I brought this up this thread or year or 2 back. Julio Jones doesn't have bad matchups. His opponents do.

No idea why the didn't double team him down the stretch.  Stupid.

And no idea how he didn't catch that ball.  Love him but he choked.

You have no idea how he didn’t come down with a playground jump ball after slipping while covered like a blanket?
If it were your playground, sure.

But tell us, what does slipping have to do with the ball going through his hands?

There’s a good chance his feet would not have come down in bounds if he did catch it.
Disagree.  Once he's got the ball, he would've made an attempt to stay inbounds, like all great/smart receivers do.

He was obviously coming down without the ball, so there was no reason for him to try and come down inbounds.

Julio Jones just made his Twitter account private, unfollowed everyone from the Falcons organization, and deleted all Falcons pictures from his account except his profile pic.

Uh... that can't be good.

Um.....really??

3tds is optically low for his talent, and he should be a bigger red zone target.......but Julio didn't exactly help himself on a few this deep balls year if I remember correctly

Julio Jones - WR - Falcons

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed Julio Jones is not expected to attend voluntary OTAs next week.

The Falcons aren't overly concerned as Jones was absent for most of OTAs while vacationing in China last offseason. Jones, who made headlines earlier this offseason when he deleted pictures of the Falcons from his social media, is reportedly looking for a "correction or update" to his current deal. Rapoport believes Jones has built up enough goodwill within the organization for the Falcons to accommodate him. The 29-year-old is due a reasonable $10.5 million salary in 2018.
