WR Khalil Shakir, BUF (1 Viewer)

Since the start of the season, I've received a bunch of low-ball offers for him, which is funny because people saw me reach for this dude and yet somehow think I don't realize what I might have here.
Some also dont know what the phrase 'fair deal' means. they are only interested in deals where they are going to win the trade hands down. they dont concern themselves with whether you are getting anything out of it.

I doubt its one of those where they think you dont know what you have (though I guess it could be)

everyone has that one guy in the league who only offers rip off deals. and when they offer one that looks fair, you do a ton of due diligence to make sure the guy you are getting isnt injured or something hahaha

this is probably what it is (most likely)

I do think that the 'everybody eats' mantra that the Bills are embracing in the post-Diggs era is likely not producing a WR1. And Allen seems committed to executing this moving forward.

While the Bills have the look of a downright scary productive and efficient offense, Allen's pass attempts AND rush attempts are down as the Bills have averaged 37 PPG. So far this year, he has 26 2nd half pass attempts.

To the extent that the Bills can keep this up...TBD, but Shakir is on pace for 79/952/11 on an offense that largely isn't passing the ball in the 2nd half (3/35/1 for Shakir). If/when the offense has to play a full 60 minutes...I have to think Skakir eats even more than he has been.

Ravens, Texans, and Jets up next, so we should have an answer over the next three games.

I've got AJ Brown, ARSB and Kupp as my top 3 WR. For some reason he's still out there in our league. My 4th WR is Shaheed. Looking to drop him for Shakir. What's a good FAAB amount to bid? Looking to block others and secure Shakir to get through bye weeks and injuries
Can you only carry 4 WR's? I'd hate to drop Shaheed for Shakir, that feels like a sideways move at best, and likely a downgrade.
Shakir ended up going for $65 (out of $200 budget). I like him. But not that much. Not enough of a difference between Shakir and Shaheed to justify that. Especially when he'd be sitting behind Kupp, aj brown and ARSB for me. Good luck to the Shakir owners. He should be a good one. WR2 with WR1 potential when the Bill's play more competitive games

Interesting decision here with your 2 top guys on the shelf for at least a few more weeks. I was a Shaheed/Shakir guy so I have both in most my leagues. Definitely value Shakir more.

I’ve started him every week so far this year with positive results. But sadly I’m having a hard time fitting him into my lineup this week against Baltimore.

And I’m a big truther on his needle continuing to point up.

same. Diontae in over him for me.
Going in the other direction from you fellas..playing Shakir over Davante Adams.

This is where I am at, but I will say that teams have been very successful throwing on this Ravens D so far. Less scared of this matchup than I was at the start of the season for sure.

IDK his principal issue is the Bills have thrown all of 24 passes in the fourth quarter through three games (only 12 combined over the last two).

I would think games where the Bills might actually have to play four quarters, this week looks like one of those, would be the right time to take a chance on Shakir.

And if I swapped Shaheed out for Shakir I'd have the same problem. I like Shakir and put a bid in for him. But $65 was a bit steep. It's all relative to an individuals team. I'm sitting at 2-1 and have Taylor and Kyren Williams at RB with either Moss or Dobbins at flex. I should be favored in my next 2 games
Anything can happen but I figure if I can just survive the next couple of weeks I should be OK. And I'm not taking anything away from Shakir. I really really like him. But given my team needs and what I would've gained he wasn't worth (to me) a 33% bid. If I needed WRs maybe

Baltimore Pass D sucks so curious as to why? I am leaning starting him this week.

thats always an issue when you pick WR from winning teams. especially winning teams with a good defense. in garbage time the fantasy points go to the RB. I consider it a cost of doing business.

Has some lingering ankle soreness...

Not great for my team going into week 5 my WRs have gotten dusted: Rashee and Puka injured, Ridley and Amon Ra on bye... now Khalil banged up. Mega sized oof.

Would we consider Shakir an ascending asset from a dynasty perspective? He’s yet to truly explode as Buffalo has largely controlled games, and then I presume he got banged up a bit against Baltimore.

The efficiency metrics are off the charts for Shakir … it seems purely a question of passing volume, which Buffalo hasn’t needed yet.

More to my point, where would you rank Shakir in PPR dynasty for 2025 and beyond? Is this a WR2 now with WR1 upside, or destined to always be a WR2, but a super safe and dependable one?

I think hes starting to draw better corners in terms of coverage than he was. This sometimes happens (especially against good defenses) I figure he will be boom or bust most of the year. but the arrow is pointed in the right direction. it may take some time for him to get the consistency that you would want.

Of course he’s ascending but the Bills did put capital into Coleman as well. I’d say Shakir is a more valuable piece to the Bills than to fantasy going forward. I can certainly see a PPR floor for him, though. Christian Kirk lite?

I keep hearing he’s out with an ankle, but no other details.

Has anybody heard the dreaded term “high ankle sprain” to describe his injury?

Makes a difference IMO if he stays on the roster or needs to potentially head to waivers due to bye weeks and other injuries.

Oof didn't need this...

Shakir, Puka, Rice, Amon Ra, Ridley

My only starting WR is Wicks (acquired this week)... I'm probably going to have to cut Ridley

ouch. and wicks is really only guaranteed to start until Watson returns.

though I do think there is the chance for him to carve out a starting role if he plays well enough.

Kind of similar in dynasty in that I have all of Shakir, Puka and ARSB, although fortunately I can at least roll with Olave, Flowers and BTJ and did win the Jennings sweepstake so it's nowhere near as bad as you have it, gl
