Martavis Bryant has resumed practicing with the Steelers and is expected to play Monday night against the Chargers.
"Martavis is motivated, he looks strong, he’s very impressive right now," Michael Vick observed on Monday. "He’s a great kid, wants to win and believes in himself." Until Ben Roethlisberger gets back, Martavis will be best viewed as a boom-or-bust WR3 play in fantasy. It should be noted that the Chargers are dealing with injuries to both starting cornerbacks; Jason Verrett was inactive in Week 4 with a foot injury, while Brandon Flowers suffered a concussion during the game. He didn't have 6'-4" with 4.3 speed at his disposal. I'm not saying he is going to hit Bryant in stride for big $. I'm saying he will definitely try it once or twice. He may very well misfire by a mile.I went to the game last night and I all I saw safe short throws, lots of dump offs, and scrambles. I don't know if the broadcast was showing something else. Although I suppose it was only off of three days of preparation.Vick will unload bombs to Bryant. it's up to him to catch them. It's one thing Vick can do.Glad I waited 4 weeks just to wait 4 more for him to have any value.
Soreness, coach's decision and he will be out there tomorrow.
His lowest trade value was a few weeks ago. If he flashes at all, you are going to pay up and even if he doesn't, if an owner has hung into him this long, he's going to wait for Ben.Hoping for a quiet week or 2 with Vick and i'll try to trade for Martavis.
Straining a hammy is certainly a concern.Deuceman said:Soreness, coach's decision and he will be out there tomorrow.parasaurolophus said:
I got rid of him weeks ago in dynasty because to get to this point in his suspension process, he had to have had multiple #### ups. And I'm just risk averse to have a Josh Gordon or Justin Blackmon type knucklehead on my roster. I might have sold low, but I'm ok with my decision. His lowest trade value was a few weeks ago. This seems like a weird reference. I thought teams playing don't have practice on Wednesdays.Straining a hammy is certainly a concern.Deuceman said:Soreness, coach's decision and he will be out there tomorrow.parasaurolophus said:
Tried trading for him after week 2 to an owner who was 0-2 for Moncrief and Sproles. He rejected it, and of course now he is 0-4 and his season is pretty much toast. His lowest trade value was a few weeks ago. It's just the #1 injury concern I have when a guy comes back from a suspension. This seems like a weird reference. Will be waiting for new info of course.
Until he is activated to the 53 man roster we won't know much. Being he is not on the 53 man roster he doesn't have to appear on injury reportsIt's just the #1 injury concern I have when a guy comes back from a suspension. This seems like a weird reference. Thanks for nothing Faust. Ugh.Report: Steelers WR Martavis Bryant Might Not Be Ready To Play Against Cardinals
http://www.steelersdepot.com/2015/10/report-steelers-wr-martavis-bryant-might-not-be-ready-to-play-against-cardinals/
Steelers activated WR Martavis Bryant from the reserve/suspended list.
Bryant was eligible to return for Week 5, but the Steelers held off on activating him after he tweaked his knee in last Monday's practice. We'd expect he'll be ready to go for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. The Steelers have desperately missed Bryant's presence in the red zone, but he'll be a volatile WR3 with Michael Vick under center. He'll have top-20 upside once Ben Roethlisberger returns.
Steelers WR Martavis Bryant (knee) not listed on injury report

Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant (knee) is not listed on the Steelers' Week 6 injury report.Bryant -- who served a four-game suspension to start the season -- was officially activated to the Steelers' 53-man roster on Tuesday. Now that he's back in action, practicing fully, he's poised to rejoin the team's offense this Sunday against the Cardinals. In 10 games last season, Bryant caught 26 passes for 549 yards, while displaying upside as a red zone target by catching eight TD passes in that span.
Not only a deep threat, but Bryant is a huge target in the red zone. Even Vick would appreciate that.I think Vick looks like he can still throw the deep ball. Doesnt do much else right, but I have seen him throw a few nice deep balls, including one in the preseason to Martavis, as well as the one on Monday night to Wheaton. Martavis gets deep with the best of them. Only takes one big play, with all of the coverage on AB to make him a solid start. Very low floor, moderate ceiling. In leagues that award for long TDs, he may be more worth the risk.
Long story short, I don't think so.duaneok66 said:Vick is WR kryptonite.
No better options??
Martavis Bryant vs. Jerraud Powers – As tough as Antonio Brown’s matchup is this week, Markus Wheaton’s is even tougher. Wheaton runs 71 percent of his snaps from the slot. Our third highest graded “corner”, Tyrann Mathieu, covers the slot on 93 percent of his coverage snaps. With Wheaton spending so much time against Mathieu, and Brown shadowed by our 17th highest graded corner, Bryant should feast on the corner we have graded 133rd overall, Powers.
Given the obvious disparity in grades, it’s no surprise then that teams have been forcing the ball in Powers’ direction. Over the past two weeks he’s been targeted 18 times, giving up 11 receptions, for 155 yards and two touchdowns. In fantasy terms, among all corners to run at least 150 routes, he’s given up the most fantasy points per route run.
While Antonio Brown has obviously been negatively impacted by Vick’s arrival, there is a chance that might not happen with Bryant. He caught three passes for 109 yards from Vick in their two preseason games together. To put that in better perspective, that was 43 percent of Vick’s total completions and 84 percent of his total passing yards. Bryant also has a six inch and 24 pound advantage on Powers. Even though it’ll be his first game of the season, based on the matchup, his price, and the upside he flashed last year, he makes for an intriguing contrarian play in GPPs.
As am I. Playing Crowder over him this week.Have Bryant firmly on the pine until Big Ben returns.
Don't be sillyI was actually thinking about.. benching Antonio Brown for Crowder.
He's going to be a WR1 whenBen comes back.Vick isn't playing.
Me but I was the dude hyping him up in here all week so it was expected.Did anyone start him?
I did in my dyno league but sat him in my redraft. The only reason he started in the dyno for me was as bye filler because Vick has looked so horrible.Did anyone start him?
