Lots of buzz herein, and it was the first thing out of Greenburg's mouth during the segment on trade deadline. In fact Greenie said something like "obviously there is a lot of interest in Bryant" and Mort cut him off immediately, "There is? Well we haven't seen it"

I personally never thought there was a lot of interest in him and was more or less surprised people think there is. I mean that in context of I'm sure plenty of teams would be interested in a 5-7th round pick type of cheap deal but I don't see anyone clamoring for him or paying more than a 5th. I'm also sure plenty of teams would not give a 7th for him.

Fact is, Bryant never seemed to understand that his reinstatement to the NFL (and the Steelers) wasn't simply procedural.  There were some fences he needed to mend in that locker room with some pretty important Steelers.

 
Why would the Steelers want Ebron?  Ok, ok, I'll try to stop cluttering the thread with my "he won't be traded" wet blanked and let you guys have fun until the trade deadline tomorrow  :thumbup:

Yes but Bryant =/= Ebron for value. While I do think it makes snese, I just think PIT would have to give up more to get Ebron...

PIT hasn't found a Heath Miller replacement. They don't use their TE like they used to, but they also don't have a TE like they used to. Many Super Bowl Champions have a pretty solid TE (here comes the flood of examples of champs who did not...). Regardless, PIT could certainly use a better starting TE over a WR who is inactive/benched. 

I am at the point where I do not think he is traded either. It's fun to pretend and speculate. I'd be a little surprised if he was traded, but not entirely because I think part of benching him was to prevent injury so they can trade him. Even if they want to trade him, I think they will not get what they want in return. That's why I think he stays, not because they dont' want to, but because they can't get what they want for him. But again, I think many in Steeler nation are over-estimating his value in general. I think he is worth a 5th or 6th round pick. I'd be kind of ticked if my team traded away a Bryant type WR for a 5th or 6th rounder, but that's pretty much what I think his value is

 
To be clear, Bob Quinn is not going me to be GM for a day. But if today were that day, I'd take Bryant 8 days a week straight up for him. I don't think they will get more than a 5th or 6th rounder if they do move him.

re: Rookie Contract - the Lions picked up his 5th year option (something like $8.25M), but it's one of those favorable deals that are a no brainer for the club. If they cut him before the new league year starts in March, they're not on the hook for any dead money. It's a mortal lock he'll be cut so it would make total sense to move him.

 
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Martavis Bryant has been told he is part of the Steelers' Week 10 game plan.

Pittsburgh is on bye this week, but Bryant will apparently be integrated back into the offense following the break. If true, it all but confirms Bryant will not be traded before today's deadline. Even so, JuJu Smith-Schuster has played too well to be demoted at this point. He should serve as the No. 2 receiver the rest of the way.

Huge bummer. Makes him droppable in redraft, and even maybe in Dynasty if you need the space.  He is a huge risk to carry due to suspensions, and now he wont even see 5 targets a game.  JuJu is 20.  AB is the best in the game.  This schmuck is now a WR3 on a run first team and he is under contract for another year.

 
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Martavis Bryant will not be traded ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

Rapsheet also confirms Bryant will report for practice on Wednesday. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported earlier Tuesday that Bryant is expected to be part of the Steelers' Week 10 game plan when they come off their bye week. A trade never had much chance at happening. The Steelers would be selling for pennies on the dollar, and pruning a Super Bowl contender of proven play-making depth.

PIT is turning him into their version of a king sized Ted Ginn. 'Hey Martavis, when you get in the game, just run deep. When you catch your breath, we will put you in again and....run deep again.'

Agreed, judging by his 44% ownership in Yahoo I sense regret coming for his former owners.

He's an immature kid sure but he's back practicing with the 1st team, didnt get traded, and kissed and made up with Tomlin.

There's too much talent there not to take a chance coming off the reconciliation/bye and hes playing the Colts, nice game to get right.

I got him for nothing after waivers cleared this morning.

There will certainly be 2 bombs throw his way but Big Ben has not connected on much deep. He's not putting enough air under the ball so his margin for error is low. he's missed everyone deep including Brown last week or the week before. Bryant isn't helping out much as far as going after the ball either. Seems he may have gotten too big...David Boston. He was more dangerous when he was built like Randy Moss.

 
Martavis Bryant hauled in 4-of-6 targets for 59 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers' Week 15 loss to the Patriots.

One of Bryant's missed connections was a pass he probably should have caught, but he made up for it and then some with a great diving catch down the sideline and a one-handed touchdown to give the Steelers the lead just before halftime. He only saw one target in the second half as Pittsburgh rode the running game, but Bryant will be locked into a primary role for at least the next two weeks with Antonio Brown (calf) sidelined into the playoffs. Despite disappointing most of the season, he will be worth starting in most leagues in a great matchup against the Texans on Christmas Day.

So, what's the deal with this guy? Will he step up on week 16 for Steelers to ease the loss of Antonio Brown?  Or is JuJu Schuster-Smith better play?

 
Bryant has averaged 7 targets for the last month.  Juju has been averaging nearly 7 as well.  AB was averaging about 12 targets a game.  I think it's relatively safe to assume Bryant and Juju are going to see a few of AB's targets each.  So Bryant and Juju are both set up to see double digit targets against one of the worst secondaries in the league.  They'll both see plenty of Kevin Johnson who is PFF's 119th rated CB.  Last week, Bryant beat Stephon Gilmore (a top 20 CB) over the top a few times.  

This is a potential blow up spot for both Juju and Bryant.  

 
Evans is locked in for me but with Josh Gordon going against a very underrated secondary in Chicago and Marquis Goodwin facing the toughest defense in the league I am seriously considering picking him up if he clears waivers and starting him this week.  Think he's got volume potential and a 50/50 shot at a TD.  

 
I'm seriously contemplating on starting Bryant due to his great opportunities instead of going with either Funchess vs. Buccaneers or Demaryius Thomas vs. Redskins. With Funchess, I can't trust him since Newton is likely to target Olsen a lot more.  It's pretty self-explanatory on Thomas due to his sh*tty QB situation.

I think the notion that Juju is a top 10 play and that Bryant is a low end WR2 this week is flawed.  Houston's biggest vulnerability has been the deep ball, which happens to favor Bryant's skill set.  As I said upthread, I think they are both excellent plays this week with tons of upside for both.  

 
Think he is worth a shot over Shepard ? Opponent has Big Ben and I could capitalize on his tds just not sure if I'm overthinking it

Shepard is the safer floor, I’ve been saying Marty b can go 3/136/2 at any time, but could gon2/35 and Eli Rogers could go 6/70/1. I’d stick with sheps floor 

 
Martavis Bryant says he wants to remain with the Steelers for 2018.

2017 should have been the final year of Bryant's rookie contract, but it tolled to 2018 after he was suspended for all of 2016. Frustrated with his role, Bryant tried to force his way out of Pittsburgh ahead of the trade deadline, earning himself a team-imposed Week 8 suspension. He returned following the Steelers' Week 9 bye and settled into a steady role down the stretch, catching 50 passes for 603 yards and three touchdowns on the year. The Steelers could be open to moving Bryant this offseason, but he's an extreme bargain at his $705,000 salary. The most likely scenario is Bryant playing out his Steelers deal.
