WR Matchups to Avoid/Exploit (1 Viewer)

Not trying to steal any of MOP's thunder b/c he does a fine job and I LOVE reading his RB Matchup to Avoid/Exploit. However, I think it also deserves a weekly WR Matchups to Avoid/Exploit. I would be willing to take this on, but I wanted to see what the FBG community thought before I went through with it. It's going to be quite time consuming but I will try my best to get it out each week.

So what does the FBG and MOP think?

There's nothing to respond to. Write up you WR Matchups to Avoid/Exploit.

Please do it - I think it would be great and will share my thoughts once it is completed-
Seconded, I'd read it!!! I know it's only one opinion but something you bring up could influence someones decision. I wouldn't feel worried about hurting anyone's feelings either because in the end it's all opinions until Sunday. It's just that some are more educated than others, it's our job to sort that part out.

I think it is actually needed more that the RB piece. IMO, you have the Rb's you are going to start, you prolly got them early, and they are the ones you start, especially in large leagues where you are lucky if you have 2 starters.

It seems everyone is always starting that 3rd WR that is highly questionable.

OK then, I can't promise it is going to be better than MOP's but I'll post in by later today or tomorrow latest. :goodposting:
I agree, Do it! Thanks in advance! I also liked the QB thread of MOP's last week. He admitted that it was his first try at it with QB's but it ended up being really good. I would like to see that thread continue on as well. I don't know if MOP has that much free time though.

Build it and they will come!

Sounds like a great idea, the RB's weekly post is one of the more popular, give the WR's some love.

Let me put in some thoughts before you start doing this. 1. I have thought about it myself but you have a minimum of 2 WR per team and some teams you have 3 and even teams like Detroit where you have 4 WR sets...multiply that out by 32 teams and you got about 100 WR you have to write up about. Not tomention trying to figure out who is going to cover who...good luck with that. 2. WR are so streaky. Even the best ones turn into ghosts for weeks at a time. I just don't want to be the guy that says "This is a possible exploit" on some WR that hasn't done crap in weeks and next thing you know you have 50 posters in the Shark Pool out for blood because you said that the WR3 on Tennessee had a great match up that weekend. WR are very hard to predict outside of the topflight group and most of the time you are going to play those elite guys no matter what.3. If you take this on, I would condense it a lot to must starts and then possible exploits, I would make the board sort of mix their own kool-aid up and stay away from being Jimmy the Greek. There is a reason WImer just lists it as "Passing Match ups", and "Rushing Match ups", you think I'm kidding but I'm not. Saves him the aggravation of having to field emails about specific players...notice the preface he puts at the beginning of his weeklies as well. Smart man he is. Good luck and I can't wait to read it.

1. Let me assure everybody, I'm NOT going more than three deep in my WR matchup to avoid/exploit. Normally going two or maybe three deep if I feel somebody is being overlooked.2. I am by no means a professional, but I would like to think I have a lot of football knowlege.3. You are correct MP on focusing more on the most starts. I may give everyone an occassional sleeper to look at, but I would hope people would understand that's exactly what it is, a sleeper pick. If anyone reads the "Offensive Sleepers" portion on the FBG page, sometimes they are right on the money with those picks and sometimes they are not. That's basically how mine should be considered.I may have this up today, but I'm not sure. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Eagles CB Will James vs. Redskins WR Santana Moss. James will be replacing injured starter Lito Sheppard.

William James

News: Eagles | James day-to-day

Impact: Philadelphia Eagles CB William James (quadriceps) is considered day-to-day because of quadriceps injury he suffered Week 1. If James plays Week 2, he would be one of the starting cornerbacks replacing the injured CB Lito Sheppard (knee). (KFFL - Sep 10, 2007)

MATCHUPS TO WATCH: Redskins WRs Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El vs. Eagles CBs Sheldon Brown and William James — Randle El is coming off a career game and he played well last December against the Eagles (six catches, 85 yards and a TD). Moss hasn't been the same since injuring a hamstring last October, but the Eagles will miss Pro Bowl CB Lito Sheppard (knee).

I think S.Moss is going to play BIG this week

Eh eagles D is better then last year.

yet losing sheppard hurts big time but I think with the speed this defense has it won't be that much of a must start play for Moss or El

This one is a no brainer, but I would think the Vikes/Lions should provide plenty of stats for WR's. The Lions WR are a given, but between Bobby Wade, Williamson and perhaps even Rice one of them has a huge game. The question is which one?

Hopefully this is foreshadowing, but DET vs. MIN is one to watch from the DET side.

MIN has squashed the Lions on the ground, so this will be nearly 100% passing.

Shaun McDonald is back with Mike Martz, and I don't believe Week 1 was a fluke.

Furrey, Calvin, Roy W - start 'em all.

Each could get 10 targets or more.

I like Galloway vs Saints, Berrian vs Chiefs
:goodposting:
I also agree here.Flexmaster noted earlier in this thread that Galloway could get the nice matchup against Jason David ... what about Berrian's matchup? I read in Wimer's passing matchups that that Patrick Surtain CB-KC was hobbled during the game last week at HOU ... will this carryover and affect how/who covers Berrian?

Anyone think Welker is going to have the middle all to himself, as the Bolts drop back to cover moss and stallworth? He could be pretty nice in PPR again this weekend
