WR Odell Beckham, Jr., Free Agent (2 Viewers)

Rotoworld:

Odell Beckham (hamstring) is practicing Monday, as expected.

Beckham has a real shot to finally make his NFL debut when the Giants host the Falcons Sunday. He'll likely be eased in initially, but is worth a stash in deeper 12-team formats. The Giants want to run three-wide sets as their base offense.

I'm gonna make a prediction here. I say he reinjures his hammy. OR injures something else. IF he even plays.

Matt Waldman loves this guy, and supposedly he's fairly advanced. But the missed time and injury combination is killer for a rookie receiver.

I'm watching closely, but am not going to make a move just yet.

From what I've seen of Beckham, his footwork on routes are among the most crisp I've ever seen out of rookie. Another general observation watching him play is that he doesn't waste a lot of motion, and "makes it look easy". Of course who knows if he can do the same in the pros, but it shouldn't take long for the eyeball test to tell whether his skill set translates. I'm willing to bet it does.

Bought 2 weeks ago. Really excited to see him in action!

From a Sig Bloom RT.

Eli manning and Odell Beckham have been holding some private, one-on-one meetings in anticipation of his upcoming return to action.
Not a huge deal but I think just goes to show this guy is very much in their plans.

Hey Guys lets all take a minute to watch this video, which actually covers the negatives! It is probably not the intent of the video to demonstrate how or why some Scouts may see things differently, but it does use various Quotes..

imho This is an electrifying player who really doesn't need much to show up on your stat sheet..

I must say that I havnt watched much of the Vikings. But Teddy had success vs Atl, and Im almost positive that Eli should have similar success.

Id almost be willing to guestimate 80 yds for Odell. However Id also add the precautionary note that you probably will not confuse Odell w/ Antonio.

In other words (imho) a chance at 80 yds isn't so much if I consider little to no chance of scoring. For example Id be much more excited if We had the potential of return yds and/or end around type (Rushing yds) ie. CPatt type plays

So while Im not gonna agree that the Giants are rushing an injured player out too soon, Id use caution when considering the risk involved.

p.s. If you have bn space for an extra player, Id suggest rostering Miami's Jarvis Landry. Honestly I forget if it was Landry or Beckham receiving props, but I actually liked the opposite WR a bit more..

i have no idea what to expect from him in this offense now. they have managed to be pretty successful to this point with cruz, randle and donnell for a few games. randle isn't anything special but he has the benefit of playing time and a full year under his belt. is the emergence of donnell going to hurt him? i'm prepared to wait a few games to see how this takes shape.

hes campin out on my taxi squad in dynasty. I've had some interest from other owners. I got him relatively cheap in the start up auction cuz of the hammy I guess. I think I'm gonna hold and see what this kid can do.

is beckham a threat to rueben randle's role? i'm not a giant expert but do they mostly let cruz roam in the slot and then randle and beckham would be the wideouts?

So who's droppable for a Beckham pickup? underperfoming WR's or RB's like a Colston, P. Thomas ? more talent than a D. Adams?

The latter is supposed to be the plan.

Odell Beckham limited, but wows at practice

EAST RUTHERFORD – Odell Beckham already has the humility aspect of his new job down.

During practice today, he burned a fellow cornerback on a deep post for a touchdown, one of the first times he truly allowed himself to unleash his full speed. He remembered everything vividly enough, just not who the cornerback was.

"I don't remember," he said, hoping for the next question.

The truth was that Beckham impressed at practice on Wednesday, according to several players. The coaching staff got a glimpse of the speedy wideout that has been a minor obsession since well before his combine workout in February.

"We had a limited number of snaps that he went through and he did some really nice things today," Tom Coughlin told out-of-town reporters who spoke to him after practice (we speak to him beforehand). "We’ll just have to see how it turns out later this afternoon and tomorrow."

The goal is to put Beckham through a second straight "hard" practice on Thursday to ensure he's ready. Coughlin admitted that the team is preparing him to be a part of the game plan on Sunday.

"He’s been in every meeting," Coughlin said earlier Wednesday. "I would expect him to know everything. I wouldn’t shy away from that. He’s demonstrated an ability to handle whatever’s thrown at him. He’s done that throughout, so I would expect that. Now, under fire with adjustments and signals and things of that nature, we’ve got to see where we are with regard to that, too."

For now, Beckham said he'll be happy with a limited number of plays, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has an Andre Brown-esque return and ends up getting more than 20 snaps.

"I feel good," he said. "Rested, for sure."

Picked him up last night as a stash and possible bye week guy

The plan was/is for him to start outside with Randle in 3 WR sets Cruz stays in the slot

Rotoworld:

Odell Beckham (hamstring) said he'd be happy with a limited number of plays in Sunday's game against the Falcons.

Beckham went through a hard practice Wednesday, and did the same on Thursday, though he was officially "limited." As long as he emerges without any setbacks, coach Tom Coughlin said the No. 12 overall pick will be part of the gameplan. However, Beckham won't be startable in fantasy until his snap count gets up around the 70-75 percent mark we eventually expect.

long term, would you see him ranked higher than Davante Adams?
It looks like a bunch of us are throwing out more questions then answers..

Im gonna take a slight stab at your question, because Im somewhat curious what others may believe..

I believe it is the Giants plan to make Odell their featured WR.

Technically I still believe Odell has the greatest potential for the "playmaker" scoring..

If ya want the safe play, along w/ steady production? Id suggest Adams.

If ya wanna risk things like having your WR face a Teams best CB in double coverage... I like Odell, especially because of potential for return yards!

p.s. The higher PPR scoring WR isn't always the higher ranked. The packers "almost" always move the ball and score points..

I have Greg Jennings and Jordan Matthews on my bench. Worth cutting one for Beckham as a stash? I really need a boost to my receivers with the waste Coradelle Patterson has turned out to be.

I just don't see the upside in Jennings to keep him around. I felt the same way about Bowe and cut him for Beckham.

Rotoworld:

Odell Beckham caught 4-of-5 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' Week 5 win over the Falcons.

He also drew a key pass interference call deep downfield on Falcons RCB Robert Alford to help set up Andre Williams' goal-line plunge. The 12th pick in May's draft, Beckham was only expected to play about 20 snaps in his NFL debut. We suspect he was somewhere in the 30s against the Falcons, and had a big impact on the game. As the Giants face the Eagles next, Beckham is suddenly worth WR3 consideration. He should be owned in all 12- and 14-team leagues.

Well I was smart enough to pick him up off the waiver wire this week but not smart/brave enough to start him. Hope he can keep up the good work

Funny, most didn't want him until now. FF is such a reactive hobby when it should be proactive, at least for those with big enough rosters.

He's a high first round pick with a borderline hall of fame qb. If he wasn't on your radar as a breakout candidate you weren't paying attention. No need to spam about him until there was some tape since he had played zero snaps including preseason.

I should have my Giants-fandom suspended a week for not dropping Marvin Jones for him. With the 10th waiver spot I'll be lucky I get him.

My league has IR space so I picked him up week 1 and stashed him on my IR. Now my problem is I can only keep 8 WRs and once he comes off my IR I need to drop one of these guys.

Gordon $10 yeee

Brown $9

Floyd $6

Edelmen $22

Vjax $30

Hopkins $6

Hunter $12

Allen Robinsion $7

Beckham. $7

It's a 4 year contract keeper league.

Traded OBJ for Kelce in a 12 team PPR/IDP dynasty league with deep rosters this morning. Trade looked better before both of their games but still hopeful.

I said a month or so ago, pick him up once he gets healthy. Worked perfectly. I expect more next week and a PPR type FF WR as a rookie.

The Gmen have flat out planned on this guy and Randle and Jernigan are not blue-chippers like him. Did you see the interview after the game? That goal line TD was a play he never ran, look at that fight to get to the spot just knowing/assuming...gotta love that. Turned the DB around too. You can't teach that stuff, this kid has it.

He's not big enough to be some super stud but PPR leagues is where I figure he does well

Why does he have to be bigger to be a stud? That's just plain false, as has been discussed ad nauseum in the Watkins thread.

I don't know...A. Brown is 5' 10"...certainly not prototypical but I wouldn't dismiss solely based on size....he's fast, runs good routes and has great hands.
