WR Odell Beckham, Jr., Free Agent (13 Viewers)

Would you guys start him over Wes walker or Jeremy Hill as a Flex ?

Am thinking about it
In over Welker and Allen Robinson for me. I feel naughty doing so but I am swinging for the fences, yo.
I have a few shares of Robinson, so I hope he blows up, but I don't really see either of those plays as that much of a risk as far as vs Beckham. (My opinion means diddly poo, but whatever). Is this a flex spot or a WR spot?
Agree. WR.

Flex spot my WR are Demaryius Thomas, and Brandon Marshall,

Just put him in my lineup over Crabtree and Benjamin. Might wuss out come Sunday though.

I just watched a replay of his catches. What a talent this kid is. He passes the eyeball test big time. He will be on the field more and he faces NFC east corners? I'm buying.

I'm trying to acquire him. The owner is asking for Jordan Reed and his 2015 1st back. I didn't get to watch the game. Did he really look that good?

The football guys breakdown of the Atlanta game on him makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. Missed on a few big plays with Eli. Drew a lot of penalties. Seems like a solid start with lots of upside for those that are desperate this weekend. I know I am.

argh I have him and Randle, I can't figure out who to start.
OBJ could blow up but he could also do absolutely nothing. Randle has chemistry with Eli already and he's targeted heavily in the redzone. I think they both have the same ceiling at this point, but Randle has the higher floor. Would be an easy call for me if I owned both.

Leaning towards him over goose egg donnell at flex
I think Beckham helps draw coverage away from Donnell.

Beckham has a higher ceiling IMO, he's a superior talent.

I agree OBJ is a superior talent but it's his 2nd NFL game. I still think Randle has the higher ceiling THIS week. It seems like Randle is targeted at least once every time they are in the redzone. OBJ does have the skills to break off a long TD though.

Odell is fast. So fast the word fast doesn't fully explain it. On the first play he had his guy beat within 10 yds of the line. Eli missed. They came back to it on the next drive and got a PI. He went blowing by the corner and all the guy could do was grab him

Loved the td even more. First game and Eli trusted him enough to toss one up in the corner with the game on the line

I think they are gonna run for 150 yards a game. This guy is that fast

Randle is wr2 in 2 weeks

I know I am all giddy with the win but whenever Eli has a true number 1 he is an assassin.
this was from a lifelong Giant fan who was at the game..

Is he saying that he thinks Beckham will be the #1 WR in NY in two weeks?

Was that supposed to mean that Randle is WR3 on the team in 2 weeks? I have Randle in one league and Beckham in another. Does it really matter whether one is a WR2 or WR3 on their own team for fantasy purposes when they run a base 3 WR offense. Don't either one of these guys have WR3 upside from here on out? I think the real loser in all of this will be Donnell.

That's dangerous with Shonne Greene banged up (hamstring, DNP Thursday) and the Titans facing the Jags.

Find someone else to cut.

Obviously, as Beckham goes, it will cause defenses to pay more attention to him, possibly helping other receivers. My question is, who does Beckham's emergence help?

Cruz? Donnell?

(I have all three)

Rotoworld:

Odell Beckham - WR - Giants

Giants.com expects Odell Beckham to "quickly become one of Eli Manning's favorite receivers."

Beckham made an impact in his debut last week, posting a 4/44/1 line on five targets. He played over 50 percent of snaps despite missing the first month of the season. The Giants plan to get Beckham more involved this week. Beckham is worth WR3 consideration against the Eagles' 29th ranked pass defense.

This is a situation where Eli was forcing the pass to targets not open and making errant throws. Those two made some excellent traffic catches. I doubt their targets can increase much, probably just makes life easier for them where they aren't as difficult to grab anymore-offense more fluid etc.

If anyone it'd be Cruz IMO. Cruz is one of the best complimentary WRs. His game is built so well to break the other team's back as they focus on someone else. It's a lot to ask of Beckham to be their #1 WR in just his second game, this might take longer to develop including the respect the D would have to give him. He's going to have to catch some when we know it's coming and become super reliable and...there's so much left for him to show that we didn't see in just one game-4 catches.

What Cruz needs is space and Beckham should be able to help give him some once he absorbs the other teams top CB. If I were a DC I would not put my top CB on him after one game.

Cruz is far better than most #2 CBs-with that matchup he'll break some and maybe his yardage increases.

Really asking a lot for either of these two to get more action

Having a hard time deciding between Beckham and Sanu. Beckham plays the worst fantasy defense in the NFL, but he's also going to be sharing more targets than Sanu. Sanu had a pretty good game the last time Green sat.

Odell Beckham - WR - Giants

Odell Beckham had two catches for 28 yards in Week 6 against the Eagles.

Beckham took a step back after scoring a touchdown in his debut last week. He was a near every-down player in three-wide sets, but finished with just four targets. Beckham is now locked into a starting job with Victor Cruz out for the season, and needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues. He'll be a high-upside WR3 in Week 7 against Dallas.

Maybe still a slight buy low opportunity with his quiet game today, but I imagine most owners will hold tight now with Cruz gone.

FWIW, I had someone make an inquiry tonight just before the Cruz injury, who then said "nevermind" when Cruz was injured, realizing what it meant for OBJ moving forward and that the price would be going up. I probably wouldn't have dealt anyway. Keeper league.

Oof who did you go with Tukes? Pretty big swing between these 2 yesterday.

So whats the consensus on our reaction? Can we just chalk this game up to "two-three looks and throw Eli" Or Does the Cruz injury open up an invitation for Odell to the School of Hard Hits..

Will it get worse, before it gets better?

Eli didn't look Beckham's way that much. Of course, he was under pressure the entire game. But as I watched, I noticed that Beckham was certainly not a big factor in the gameplan.

That being said, with Cruz out, Beckham is in a great situation. Gonna get a lot of looks.

Rotoworld:

Odell Beckham will take over Victor Cruz's starting role.

Beckham was ticketed to only play in three-wide sets, but Cruz's injury changes all that. He'll start opposite Rueben Randle and stay outside when the Giants go to their preferred three-wide look, leaving Preston Parker to man the slot. Armed with an increase in both playing time and projected targets, the impressive rookie needs to be owned across the board. Beckham, an explosive playmaker after the catch with underrated catch-point ability, will be a WR3 against Dallas in Week 7.
