He's not really that far down most rankings. His ADP is 35 overall on ANTSPORTS and is WR #12. Here is the top 15 WR from ANTSPORTS:Had him last year and other then the injury really I thought he was a steal. Why is he so far down on peoples list?
I think this looks about right, but it also wouldn't surprise me if healthy he could emerge as a top 5-10 guy this year. Talent was not the problem with Roy, so if people are down on him it's probably his health concerns or that those people are looking in the rearview mirror at past stats too much when considering players. He's not really that far down most rankings. I personally have Roy ranked #9 ahead of Wayne, Chambers, and Ward. He'll be drafted in the 3rd round in most formats.

Why? Anything outside the "health" concern? He's 18th on my listI think this looks about right, but it also wouldn't surprise me if healthy he could emerge as a top 5-10 guy this year. Oh I forgot to list QB concerns as another reason why people are down on him. That and the Detroit discount.puttin someone in the top 15 WR who's never had more than 55 catches in a season kinda scares me. He plays for the lions, so that's reason for doom in itself. Sure he had 8 TD's, but so did TJ Duckett
New QB, New Coach, New Offense, Never HealthyWhy? this would have been spot on during the super bowl run (99-01), but not so much in recent years...along with a depleted defense, a sketchy OL is one of biggest reasons they have had losing seasons three of the last four years...the simplest way to make this point is to point out how often warner & bulger got hit recently...they had a lot of problems at RT, which they thought they fixed by giving up second rounder for turley & than he had to leave game for a few years with a bad back (i do think alex barron will be a good one, but we are talking about the past)... the interior OL was awful last year, & age is catching up with timmerman & mccollum... here again, i like incognito & think he will help a lot, but we are talking of last few years... so really the constant has been serial pro bowler pace... but it takes more than one OL to make an upper echelon OL...despite this, holt has been only WR in league history to get 1,300 receiving yards six years in a row... moss, TO, harrison, not even rice ever accomplished this.based on this, we can't rule out roy putting up monster numbers on the basis of the lions not having a stellar OL...Let's see, Martz's version of the Coryell offense relies heavily on the Oline being able to hold their blocks without much help from backs or TEs.With the Rams, he had good/great Olines. How's the Detroit Oline?Don't believe the Martz will make Detroit an offensive powerhouse hype. Until that Oline improves, they will struggle.
