WR Terry McLaurin, WAS (2 Viewers)

I think I might have sold at the most opportune time in a dynasty league.  Gave him and a 4th for a 1st, that should be mid-round, in a 12-teamer.

Really like the kid but am loaded at WR in this particular league, and after drafting him wayyyy late this spring, felt the return on investment was too much to ignore here.

Wishing him the best and maybe I'll grab him in a redraft next year.  I think he'll produce for years to come given the chemistry with Haskins and his precise route-running.

Redskins dropped WR Robert Davis today who played 43% of snaps in place of Terry last Sunday.  I think it's safe to assume Terry will be back.  I'm still worried about the Haskins effect.

Seems like more than a few of the NFL talk show commentators are of the feeling that Haskins was purposely thrown to the wolves on Sunday to rub it in the face of the front office that insisted on drafting him. Crazy stuff and now Colt McCoy in the mix to start all adds up to a mess for McLaurin to work with. Shame.

I think Case will start again. Pats have played relatively anemic offenses so far.  Not to say Washington is a juggernaut, but they can score with Case at the helm. If it’s Case and Terry I’ll start Terry for sure.

But, but, but... they played together in college!!!

you may not have been aware of that fact 😀

Have you seen what the Pats are doing on defense this season?!?

Belly has been watching this kid's tape over and over the last two days. Zero chance I am starting him this week.

Damn it. Save for Miami, F1 does not look startable for the next six weeks...

Schedule looks much better after the bye, however, and especially juice during weeks 15/16, at home vs. Phi and NYG...

I agree, Fitz.

Shadow coverage from Stephon Gilmore = no bueno.

Yes, very true..... but he was good to great against the bears and I feel like the Bears and Pats D are on the same level..... with the bears having played against better offensive teams overall.  the Pats cakewalk schedule has and will continue to be ludicrous.

Pats have played some bad offenses.  The WR1 for Pittsburgh and Miami had decent days, and Beasley and Brown had decent numbers for Buffalo.   If he's healthy, I'll run him out there as a WR3 over someone like Chark or Metcalf.

I'm talking based on not being able to start him for at least a few weeks and then having little faith in Haskins and this offense after what we've seen this year. I mean F1 is the only bright spot. It's bleak out there in DC.

Cutting him is rash, but I'm not ruling it out (redraft with only 6 bench spots and byes coming).
i had to cut him this week last minute for a kicker in a short bench league (4 spots).  After seeing how bad the skins looked I really had doubt.

Not sure I'd start him over Chark this week. DJ has had 4 straight games with a TD except for a facemask call.

Close to doing the same this week for a TE...only 3 bench spots.  With how the team is playing, I don't see anyone in my league jumping to get him over the next two weeks, so I should be able to grab him again.

Think he was back at practice today fam.  :football:

Redskins' Terry McLaurin: Back at practice Wednesday

by RotoWire Staff
(1 hr ago) McLaurin (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

McLaurin was held out Sunday against the Giants due to a hamstring injury sustained in last Thursday's session. While he was going through individual drills Wednesday, his activity level won't be known until the release of the Redskins' first Week 5 injury report.

Terry McLaurin (hamstring) was limited at practice Wednesday.

McLaurin's outlook was optimistic heading into Sunday but the rookie was ultimately scratched as a precautionary move. He said his injured hamstring has made "a lot of progress" in that time. Even if he's a full go, McLaurin's matchup against the Patriots (with Colt McCoy under center) is a disastrous one. His performance would truly have to be phenomenal to finish as a WR3 in Week 5.

Jay Gruden on Washington's QB plan vs. Patriots: 'We don't have one right now'

********

Somebody is going to play QB and target McLaurin a bunch in a play from behind script. They're going to get crushed so hard, though. I just can't see starting him this week. Assuming good health.

Just my ten cents - I am all aboard the McLaurin train but I would start Chark over him easily this week. I need to see how F1s former college QB can do with some prep. If it's even going to be him starting this week.

James Bradberry is having a heck of a season so far.   I think he shuts down Chark.  But I don't feel good about McLaurin this week with the injury, the QB situation and facing the Pats.   May go with Metcalf against a Rams D that got torched last week.  Figure Seahawks will be playing from behind and will have to throw.

Yeah I have a couple spots I'm thinking about Metcalf as well. I don't like when my plan B involves a Thursday game. I will probably sit him and wait to see what happens. I don't actually have any spots where I am deciding between Chark and McLaurin, I'm just saying I would go Chark. Maybe Minshew and Fournette can create some good play action scenarios for him. Maybe you're right about Bradberry, though.

Redskins' Terry McLaurin: Considered truly questionable

by RotoWire Staff
(35 mins ago) McLaurin (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against New England, with coach Jay Gruden saying the wide receiver is 50-50 to play, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Ruled out in a game-time decision last week, McLaurin was a limited participant in practice the past three days, setting up another game-time call in Week 5. He'll work with Colt McCoy if he ends up playing, as the Redskins are making a quarterback change for Sunday's matchup with the shutdown New England pass defense. It's a difficult spot for the entire Washington offense, but anyone interested in using McLaurin in a Week 5 lineup should have a final decision when inactive lists are released before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Everything points to benching this guy with the injury, stiff opponent, and Colt starting.  But I am addicted to him and think he will be in my lineup if he plays.

Tough to start a hamstring player. They're so easily lost to warm ups. The injury makes Edelman as my WR2 an easy choice and I am going with Auden Tate instead of Terry as WR3.

Terry McLaurin vs. Patriots: McLaurin missed Week 4 against the Giants with a hamstring injury but feels much better and returned to get in a round of practices this week. He’s fully expected to suit up against New England. The question remains who will be throwing him the ball. Case Keenum is in a walking boot, Dwayne Haskins was horrendous in relief last week, and Colt McCoy has barely practiced since last season after breaking his leg. It likely won’t even matter who is under center. McLaurin is expected to draw Stephon Gilmore’s coverage much of the afternoon. Gilmore has turned himself into the league’s best corner. The Patriots are No. 1 in pass-defense DVOA and No. 1 in fantasy points allowed to wideouts. Opposing No. 1 receivers have struggled against the Patriots, as John Brown went 5-69-0 last Sunday, Robby Anderson 3-11-0 in Week 3, DeVante Parker 0-0 the previous week, and JuJu Smith-Schuster had a garbage time-aided 6-78-0 in the opener. McLaurin is off limits for me at less than 100% health against a top-two defense. Washington’s implied team total of 13.75 points is the week’s lowest.

He is sitting this week for me.  Hate the QB situation and the NE D.   I'm going with Shady over TY in the flex spot but hope Scary T returns to full health when he is needed most during bye weeks.

It’s either Sanu or Terry for me. Latest news has Terry on my bench. Might change that last minute Sunday AM though.

Terry McLaurin (hamstring) is active for Week 5 against the Patriots.

The impressive rookie is back in the fold after missing last week's game with a bum hamstring. Unfortunately he'll face a daunting matchup against All-Pro corner Stephon Gilmore. Josh Norman (knee) will also be in uniform for Week 5. CB Aaron Colvin, TE Vernon Davis, LB Josh Harvey-Clemons, QB Case Keenum, C Ross Piershbacher, TE Jordan Reed and OG Brandon Scherff are all inactive against New England.

Too bad the Redskins are such a mess.  With a little stability at HC and QB, McLaurin would be so much easier to start.

yea,  a real good WR is useless with a bad QB.   That is what we are looking at now.
