WR Tyreek Hill, MIA (4 Viewers)

Call me crazy but I don't think it was a dumb move at all for someone to draft Hill over OBJ. Maybe if the league allows in-draft trades, I guess. Otherwise given a variety of factors, I can see a lot sense in valuing Tyreke over Odell if both were on the board when it came time to choose.

You're not crazy at all, but go back a few pages though 2 weeks before the season started and see where some of us were called crazy for drafting Hill over Beckham.

Definitely feels like this Mahomes/Hill combination is going to have one of those magic seasons where they elevate teams to title wins.

That is what a bad game looks like.
This from the same guy who said his “defense by committee” this year will be any team playing against Mahomes and company....

Not sure what happened to Reek today. I guess we're spoiled but after 51 yards early, nothing. Entire drives without even a target. I guess he was well shackled by the Niners?

No reason to be concerned at all.   He's not gonna catch a long TD every week, after all.   Every WR has these kind of weeks.

He’s the main guy defenses are watching for which opens everything up for everyone else and when those other options are great to solid there’s gonna be weeks like this. As long as Mahomes keeps playing like this tho there’s gonna be weeks where tyreek eats

Tyreek Hill - WR -  Chiefs

Tyreek Hill caught 9-of-13 targets for 54 yards in the Chiefs' Week 4 win over the Broncos.

He "added" two yards on one carry. The Broncos did a really good job of containing Hill, but Travis Kelce and Kareem Hunt were able to pick up the slack, combining for 253 yards and a couple scores. Hill has had a quiet last two games with no touchdowns and will be a WR2 next week vs. Jacksonville.

Didn’t get to see the game much at all. Early on it looked like they were using him on the line of scrimmage. Did they ever try a deep ball? Was he not getting separation? 9 for 54 seems like a strange stat line for him!

This doesn't help that much, but on their second drive (I believe, possibly 3rd drive) they threw the deep ball to him and it was broken up.  I didn't watch second half so I am not sure if any other deep balls were attempted.

They didn't but Mahomes didn't have much time to throw all night. I do think they still should have tried a couple to open things up, however.

Yeah I'd be more encouraged than discouraged by the usage last night. Denver was in the backfield as soon as the Chiefs hiked the ball all night. So the Chiefs made a conscious effort to get the ball to Tyreek quickly. He just didn't break one tonight.

I sort of wish I COULD bench him this week, so I could force one of Golladay, Edleman or Ingram into my lineup, all of whom have better matchups.

But he's just so able to break the game on one play, and he has a QB who can make that one play, that you can't sit him.

Tyreek actually lines up in the slot on a majority (37%) of his snaps where he'll face off against someone named Tyler Patmon. I actually don't think the match-up is all that bad even if it's not ideal. And yeah, you can't sit him regardless.

went zero rb this year.  2 wr + flex.

brown v atl

odb at car

hill v jax

jeffery v min

I think Hill will have some extra motivation after Ramsey basically called him a kick returner. Should be a fun battle to watch.
Motivation is great.

Also great: JAX defense.

I’m not holding my breath counting on Hill this week - hoping he does ok, but also hoping the rest of my team carries me.

I know the Patriots like to take away the opposing team's top weapon. Half of me hopes they decide that's Kelce and the other half of me wonders if they could even stop Tyreek if they did decide it's him.

IMO It’ll be Hunt or Kelce. More likely it’ll be Kelce.

for one, I don’t think the Pats have anyone to consistently cover Hill. For another, if they try to double Hill, Kelce will chew them to pieces over the middle.

Pats are more likely to use a LB in coverage to double Kelce, while trying to get pressure on Mahommes.

Hill should get his.
