WR Velus Jones Jr. - CHI (2 Viewers)

Verlus Jones (hamstring) was limited in Thursday's practice.

This is the closest the Bears have come to seeing Jones potentially active on game day, as he has posted back-to-back limited sessions and even had a limited session last Friday. It probably won't matter for the sake of fantasy leagues unless Jones is used extensively as a gadget rusher, but that can't be ruled out completely. At this point, though, it'd be hard to start him without seeing him healthy and watching him seize that kind of offensive role.

Very disappointing when these rookies start their careers out hurt before they even get in a game. Does not bode well for the future

Velus Jones (hamstring) is questionable for Week 4 against the Giants.

Jones was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Friday. Week 4 should be his NFL debut. Once up to speed, Jones should supplant Equanimeous St. Brown as the Bears' No. 2 receiver. That may give the offense a slight boost, but Jones himself won't be viable for fantasy purposes. The Bears rank dead last in pass attempts and yards per game.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Velus Jones (hamstring) is expected to play Week 4 against the Giants.

The third-round rookie missed the first three weeks with a hamstring issue, so this will be his NFL debut. Unfortunately, he is debuting for an offense that has thrown a grand total of 45 passes through three weeks, 34 fewer than the Falcons in 31st place. Unlikely to see a lot of volume, Jones is just a stash in deep leagues and Dynasty formats.

Great news - I expect fields may throw for over 100 yards against the Giants. Make sure you put him in your lineups

Anything to see here or with Moore, a healthy Mooney, Claypool with an off-season with the team, and Scott is the ride over?

He looked as advertised to me.
The return game showed some wheels and they ought to put some time into developing him.

The highlights match the writeups that he's far better and more comfortable this year. It's too bad the team has added WRs since drafting him soooo he's probably locked into WR5 as the KR and not a bigger role

Wild night for Velus. CHI converted him to RB ?
Velus has always been decent with the ball in his hands. His problem is that he's a WR who doesn't track the ball well, which really limits his pro potential.

Bears were looking at him as a RB before having to cut him. I don't think he makes the team.

The Coachspeak Index
#Bears HC Matt Eberflus on Velus Jones:

“He’s gonna be a guy for us that we can use in multiple ways — we can use him in the backfield, we can spread him out, we can do a lot of different things with him.”

this backfield is messier than the 2004 Dave Matthews Band bus incident

i feel like Jones will have significant value, but for me, that would only be if he was re-classified as a RB (I'm only in dynasty and I de-value RBs heavily in favor of very strong WR groups)

if someone was very light on WR (and strong at RB and TE), I'd add him.

I guess it depends on how many you start.
I like him at WR (depth) in my start six WR league but he's sitting on the WW in my start 2-3 RB league.

I'm thinking 8 points per week.
No idea, maybe 2 catches 20 yards 8 carries 40 yards or some variation. 8 isn't enough for a RB but once WRs get injured that 8 might get me by in the start six one.
