Thanks for setting up the thread, Jeter.

I'll be in and out this weekend, and having another FBG who can edit Post #1 helps.

narrowed it down to a few choices here, but I'm going to go with the guy that has the most upside.

RB Marshawn Lynch, Team TBD

Rookie RBs made a very strong impact this year with MJD, Addai, and Bush all finishing top-15 or so...and all of them were splitting time with a very productive veteran. I think Lynch has similar ability to some of those guys so a top-20 season is certainly possible.

Wow, wasn't expecting him to go that early.

2006 big 5: Bush, Williams, Addai, Maroney, MDJFinishing position of those drafting them, total pts

31 John Doe

Looks like connecting on a rookie RB didn't help those teams out much.

I never liked Arrington at all. He's a straight line runner who falls down at first contact.I think Lynch is twice the runner that Arrington was, with more power, balance, and agility.

He's not that far behind Adrian Peterson and the two are clearly the best 2 rookie RBs in this class. I'm not sure why Lynch went so late in WSL1 but I'll take him with Larry Johnson.

Just busting your balls a bit. I thing Lynch is quite better than Arrington (####...who wouldn't be) but I'm not sold on either Lynch or Peterson doing anything next year. I don't think it's a great RB class this year and some major pieces need to fall in the right order for these two next year. But he probably has as much upside as anyone left.

Taking DeAngelo in the 2nd round was a HUGE mistake last year. My eyes we opened to the fact that I should not have taken a rookie RB that early, especially when I did not know what his destination was going to be.

JON KITNA, QB, Det. :lmao:

Thought about Romo, but My gut tells me (along with BP's departure) that Dallas may fall on it's rear next year.

Pm-ing next

I believe there was another player responsible for the travishockery that was Chambers' season, but then again good luck with this pick. I hope he drops fewer passes this year - maybe if you're lucky he'll even catch more than half his targets.

5.10 Randy Moss, WR, Raiders (soon to be ????)

This is about where the risk balances out with the reward in my eyes.

Sorry guys...my office has been a revolving door with people the last 3-4 hours. Let me quickly reveiw and I'll make a pick shortly.

Struggling with this pick somewhat as there are a couple players I'm considering but I'll go with upside. I may be reaching a little....

5.12 RB Jerious Norwood, Atl

Family Matters selects the following:

5.12: F.Taylor-RB, JAX

6.1: R.McMichael-TE, MIA

Taylor had a nice year and should be good for 1 more.

McMichael is a top 8 TE and fairly safe selection. I usually like to have Gates early but I didn't feel the value was there at 2.1. The gap seems to have narrowed somewhat.

edit for commentary only.

not sure what happened either.

If anyone wants to call it an evening, be sure to drop me a PM.

I won't be around much Saturday, so I hope to be able to get my pick in by the AM.

jeff

there's a good sized pick gap between our teams.

I should be around all day tomorrow. Feel free to PM or email me your picks.

If not, we could just pencil you in for Baskett

 Levin, MT, and Jeff....do yourself a favor and cross them off your 2007 reading list. They write well enough to convince eskimoes that they need ice cubes. Unfortunately my Rivers, Bell, Bush, Baskett, Parker, Hilton, Koenen team flamed out.

Baskett was a non-factor in my leagues but I gotta give props to Jeff for pointing him out. IIRC He was cut by Minny before he went to the Iggles and that was pretty large limb to be out on.As a Pats fan I hated the Reche signing but Jeff was all over that. He called that one perfectly.I'm starting to believe san diego WRs and KC WRs have about the same small value. It's interesting how many Clarett supporters switched to Bell. His baked beans are tasty but they give ya about as much indigestion as drafting him.

Hey Bri...let me point out Brad Hoover and Kerry Colbert. Please give me props next year for their 13.7 fantasy point seasons.

I like Lynch but here we go with the bad pub. This was posted here:http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...howtopic=302763

Cal Football Star Accused of Assault on Ex Girlfriend

OAKLAND -- A former girlfriend is accusing former Cal star running back Marshawn Lynch of domestic violence and sexual assault.

KCBS has learned the Alameda County District Attorney is reviewing the woman's claims following an Oakland police investigation.

Lynch's attorney Gerry Schwartzbach denies the allegations.

KCBS has confirmed the woman was granted a restraining order against Lynch Friday morning. Schwartzbach says Lynch was unaware of the court hearing and did not attend.

In her complaint, the woman alleges Lynch choked, slapped and sexually assaulted her in Oakland the night of December 13th. She filed the civil complaint on December 19th, according to court documents obtained by KCBS.

Shwartzbach says Lynch was at the woman's home with a friend that night, but denies that any violence or sexual assault took place. He says Lynch was questioned by police and is co-operating with investigators.

Oakland police declined to comment, as did the deputy district attorney handling the case.

Lynch, the Pac-10 offensive player of the year and a first team All-American as a junior last season, left school early to enter the NFL draft. He is considered a likely first round draft choice. His last game for Cal was the Holiday Bowl victory over Texas A&M on December 28th. He attended Oakland Tech high school.

Rivers - not a fan. QB2 at best. I was never behind him.Bush - wasn't a major fan (actually was way bigger on Deuce). Had a bad ranking on him from the onset - check LHUCKS's staff rankings commentary.Baskett - dude came out of the ashes and was the starter until the Stallworth trade. Still has good dynasty value, but certainly diminished. Still was a name even Dodds didn't know until September, and I found him in April. Bri - it was a trade, not a cut.Parker - Samie sucked, I'll give ya that.Zach Hilton - ouch. :angry:Koenen - pure kool aid there, but seriously - a kicker held your team back? How about the Vinatieri injury? Where'd you hear that one first? Oh, yes, selective memory. Got it. ....and please don't lump me in with Mr. Levin - I'll leave it at that. It's ok BNB, some of us actually play in leagues that look beyond a 4 month event horizon. Challenge yourself.
