Buf v Cin

Ten v Cle

StL v Was

Slim pickins this week. Buf against Cin is intriguing considering Benson is out. TB came up big against Atl, but will Painter be as inept as Collins? Tennessee has been solid and Cle is not spectacular. Skins are solid and StL is a mess right now.

Safe pick is on Ten or Was, home run pick is Buf. Thoughts?

 
Gotta be Tampa Bay - and I'm keeping Cleveland for weeks 5 and 6 with Jacksonville and then Indy themselves on the schedule.

 
Atl @ Sea would be a good play and if they are available Hou vs Pit. The Steelers o-line is in bad shape.

 
I like Tampa here. The are at home and get (presumably) Painter, a guy who will be making his first start under the bright lights of MNF. They did a really solid job of shutting down the run and getting after the QB against Atlanta too, so if they can do the same here they could be in for a big night.

As a bonus, they have a decent schedule coming up after week 4. Week 5 they play @SF, then in week 7 they get the Bears at home, a team that usually gives up a bunch of sacks and turnovers.

Three great options out there:

1. ATL vs Seattle

2. TB vs Indy

3. MIN vs KC

KC actually scored some points on SD so I wonder if they are coming around (relatively speaking). If he starts Painter's a turnover machine but I wonder if he does not get the offens moving somewhat vs what Collins was doing.

:goodposting: This is the correct answer. Vegas has them at least 10 point favorites, and the O/U is at 41, which is one of the lowest. And for the points mentioned above makes them a :moneybag: pick
 
How about the Browns? Seem to be getting to the QB and play a Britt-less Tenn squad Sunday. Schedule forward looks good too...

I decided to pick up Tampa Bay, but I'm looking at the Redskins with a matchup against the Rams...and I'm thinking that they may be a better choice. Any thoughts on the skins? Looks like they are the fourth highest scoring defense in my league so far, against much better opponents than the Rams.

I went ahead and picked up TB. My normal starting D is the Steelers and they have been playing poorly...and against Houston...I like my chances with TB a lot better.

 
Don't forget that Tampa plays at home on Monday night. Crowd is sure to be a good one as I heard today only 2000 tickets left and expected to sell out.

Pumped up crowd, first Monday night game for Raheem and his young boys on DEF. I'd bet they will come out fired up.

I'm rolling with them over Detroit.

should be plenty of turnovers and sacks with a low scoring game.

I am also thinking about the skins game - i really see them struggling to beat the rams and this could be a low scoring game

 
Giants are hopeful to get Osi back back soon, making an already decent pass rush even that much better ... they got the hell after Vick last week damn good ... AND they get Seattle in the swamp next week. Looking pretty good, if ya can scoop 'em. :thumbup:

 
How about New Orleans? They're @ Jax this week and have an interesting schedule after that.

Atlanta at 1-2 getting a very weak Seattle offensive squad at home has to be mentioned. This is a classic "get better" game. ETA - correction: As below, Seattle at home, different animal.About that "bright lights" fever, that works both ways: I have TB in two leagues right now but I wonder if the vets on the Colts don't get behind the kid and put up more of a challenge than people think. Collins seemed hopeless but Painter (blown ups plays and all) seemed to provide a spark. I will take the safe comfort of knowing TJax can't do TJaxsquat.

And the post about the Saints above - if available definitely yes, they have just gotten through the Pack/Rodgers, Bears/Cutler, and Texans/Schaub and now they get the Jags + Gabbert. Yikes, everybody will score for the Saints.

One more ETA - the comment above about the Skins, in one league, the Rams have given up 18.0 to PHI (H); 15 to NYG (away); 20 to BAL (H).

If anything in ATL-SEA, I like the Seahawks side. It's at Seattle and ATL OL is porous. LWash returns a bonus. I don't see ATL running away with this at all, Ryan is very mortal away from the Georgia Dome.

And if Hasselbeck were still QB, the Seachickens could probably remain poised when White, Jones and Gonzalez wreck havoc on their secondary early on. But if Tarvaris is responsible for igniting a comeback, I'm counting on multiple TOs and a DTD.

For what it's worth, SEA still gave up 4 sacks and an INT and generated 11 points for the ARI DST in Seattle. They also gave up 26 to SF DST and 17 to PIT DST's, but those are good defenses. Not bad, but the above is correct, Atlanta's defense is not looking good and it's in Seattle where anything can happen in terms of the Hawks showing up. Long road trip too for the Falcons. After thinking about it some more I'm passing.

I picked up NOLA for this week. Sproles was pretty impressive as a returner and I'll take a shot at a rookie QB.

 
I mentioned the G-Men having a nice 2 week run (@Cards, vs. Seahawks) earlier ... and the Bucs look just as solid (vs. Indy, @ San Fran) ...if both are available, that's a tough choice to make, but can't go wrong with eiher. Week 6 gets dicier for both, with Giants hosting Buffalo, and Bucs at home vs. Saints ... like the Giants better in those respective matchups, but may be time to hit the wire again, if one is employing the turnstile method weekly.

 
Thinking of dumping the Pats as well.

But with a lousy 6 sacks in 3 games (Det, @ Minn, Atl) I'm having a hard time seeing great potential for Tampa defense.

Is their sack potential much greater than what we've seen so far?

 
Missed out TB because of FAAB waiver bid.

Was able to secure ATL instead.

I realize Seahawks much better team at home than away but I'm going to hope that Tavaris throws a token pick or two w/ a fumble rec.

 
Still really torn b/w the Browns and TB. Browns getting sacks and the schedule at least as good as TB. From my post above, look at this stretch (minus Houston):

Yup, I have TB right now, but I'm considering dropping them for the Redskins. Thus far, the Rams are the best matchup for opposing defenses in the entire league. My only two concerns right now are that Steven Jackson did not play much in the first three games. He'll be back and close to 100% this week and is supposed to get a full workload. Plus, the Rams are at home and desperately need a win.The Colts, despite how bad they've been are only a lower middling matchup for opposing defenses. They stink, but they haven't been an opposing points scoring bonanza for defenses.I dropped the Patriots for TB. Strongly considering the switch to the Skins.

Another concern is that the Skins are playing their 2nd consecutive away game and this is a short week for them. Tough call Tampa or Wash. I'm leaning TB.
 
My order of preference:

TB v Ind

Buf v Cin

Min v KC

Was v STL

Ten v Cle

I like TB lots more than the rest. Buffalo is my second choice and the rest are interchangable really.

Do you like TB for the defense's sack/pick potential, or do you like the matchup? Because they only have 6 sacks to date and I'm trying to see the silver lining here.

10 sacks through 3 games is good. I always like sack totals to consider first because that can lead to more interceptions. And I think sacks are more predictable than Ints or fumbles.I am considering NO over Houston.Does anyone have thoughts on which defense (long term, not just this game) has more sack ability? Houston has 7 through 3 games.
