XBOX Dads -- Need Some Help (1 Viewer)

Kid can't play Fortnite on his own account, which is apparently considered cruel and unusual punishment under several UN resolutions.  He's a child account under the family account and we've blocked user generated content (which Fortnite has).  So he can't play.

After chatting with the tech support it appears we can't allow a game-by-game exception for UGC.    You can do it for age-related restrictions but not custom content created for an app or game.  It's either allow it all or allow none of it (the existing age-related restrictions still apply if you allow it all).

So... what are the risks of allowing UGC on XBOX for teen (13 and up, or T) and under-rated games?  Is there quite a bit of stuff out there that would be a problem for a 12 year old?  Or are we OK to allow UGC across the board?

I’ve not noticed any inappropriate UGC in games on Xbox, and certainly none in Fortnite. Epic would have a lot to lose if the allowed content like that into the game as they know millions of children play and spend money on the game.

I've also not witnessed anything inappropriate for my 10 year old.  Of course, I'm not by his side watching for every billionth hour that he's playing it.

Agree here.  The most offensive stuff I've seen on Xbox is the chat between friends when I picked up a headset that wasn't removed from a group chat.  Never seen any actual game content that was questionable.
