Yahoo fantasy football question (1 Viewer)

O.K. This is my first year being a commish of a yahoo fantasy football league, ( I Know, i know, a lot of people on these boards hate yahoo).

A few of my friends know in advance that they know that they will not be around for the draft.

Is there a way that I can turn them on auto pick, so everyone does not have to wait for them to time out every pick.

you can probably log in 'til draft time.

maybe you want to do a few yahoo mocks or maybe make a phoney practice league and run a draft.

Everyone should be there on time, but even if they aren't for whatever reason, the software takes them off auto-pick as soon as they enter.

If they aren't there, then autopick makes their pick in 10 seconds. If they are there, then they have 90 seconds to make their pick. They can log on at any time during the draft.

ok thanks, also does anyone know how early u can enter the draft? Thanks for the replies.

I'm not sure how early, but I think it normally gives you a draft order a half hour before launch, if you're on random draft order --- so probably a little before that.

and there's a little chatroom, so you can sit around and chat if you want.

nice, say for example 1 of my friends calls me and says he will be able to be online 10 minutes after the draft is started, can I pause the draft???

I think it's like 30 or 45 minutes before.I don't think you can pause the draft on Yahoo.

No. About all you can do is tell those who are there to take the full 90 seconds. Autopick will then pick the top person on their queue.

1 last question.

How do you set the total # of rounds in the draft.

Will there be as many rounds as total roster positions.

I couldn't find an option for this in the settings.

thanks

Go to league site; go to Draft Central, scroll down to Draft Results and it should have the draft set out.

yeah, it's just as many rounds as you have roster positions.if you have 50 spots, or whatever, and you don't feel like sticking around for the whole thing you can always leave and it will finish up on auto, if you have no problem with that.also, I think after the draft there is some kind of supplemental waiver based draft thing where you just put in all the adds and drops and it cycles through --- but maybe that's just the normal waivers, I forget.I would suggest just logging in and running through a couple yahoo mocks.

Also FYI with Yahoo auto draft, unless you specify pre-draft rankings it will draft for each starting spot first and then draft 1 backup for each starting spot. E.G. if you start 2 RB, 3 WR, QB, K, DEF then the first 8 picks will be those positions and then the next 8 picks will be backups for each position and you will end up with 4 RB, 6 WR, 2 QB, 2 K, 2 DEF. This means that in round 7-8 you will be selecting a DEF and K when you could be picking much more valuable players.
