Yahoo league notifications (1 Viewer)

I've looked for this in the past and have never found it but maybe I'm blind and someone has the answer here...

In a Yahoo league is it possible to get email notifications for transactions? I've never been able to find that option.

I've never seen it, and just looked again under the "Edit Team Info" tab where you can get emails, etc.

You can get FAAB results by email.

Yeah I get those. Just want to be able to swoop in and pick up someone who.was dropped without having to check in on the app all the time.

Yeah, I figured that's what you were looking for. They probably figure most people aren't using FCFS so they don't adjust for the week run-up to the regular season.

There's an option to be notified for "fantasy football events" and they give the example of pending trades. It probably doesn't include transactions, but you could check it and see what you get. Unless someone knows for sure they're not included.

Nope.  It should, but it doesn’t.

It *might* work for watched players, but you’ll have to test it.

I have a related question. If waiver time is "one day", is that literally "24 hours"?
I'm looking at two drops from yesterday. One in the morning, one at night. The morning one is marked FA, night one is W.
I assumed all players dropped on Monday would be available Wednesday.

I thought it was 24 hours.

Thanks, @shadyridr. It didn't occur to me that they wouldn't "free" everybody from one day on the same day. I've been playing on MFL where the players were locked until the following week, so this is new to me.

I was on MFL also and that was definitely variable based on league settings. I used to have 24 hours set on MFL too.

I am notoriously forgetful, so don't quote me on this. But I do believe that Yahoo does updates once per day (perhaps at 2am PST?).  So "day" does not equal 24-hours in this case.  I am guessing (that memory of mine), that it is AT LEAST 24 hours with a player either passing or failing the 24 hours at "2am PST" (which would be 5am for anyone on the east coast.  I know I have been frustrated a time or two by a player not moving from waivers to free agent.

Thanks, that does seem more in line with what I expected. I'll have to follow a couple and see if I can figure out the  cutoff. A player was dropped tonight and noted as being available 9/5. We have continual rolling list waivers (also new to me) and I have #1.  I could see trying to avoid using it early on for just anyone, meaning I'd want to check ASAP when someone moved to free agent status.
