Yahoo Waiver Rule (1 Viewer)

In a Yahoo league, if a player picks up a player on waivers and decides to drop the same player within 24 hours, it is my understanding that the transaction is made without a change to the player's waiver priority.

If a player drops a player and picks up a player on waivers and then decides that a few minutes later the transaction was not a good one, can he drop the player he just picked up for the player he just dropped without losing his waiver priority? Essentially, within 24 hours can he just cancel out and keep his waiver priority? I don't believe that is the case, that the 24 hour rule only applies to adding players and then putting them back in the player pool.

Clarification would be appreciated.

Thanks!

What did yahoo support say?

As far as I know, you can claim a player on waivers, but if you cancel before it is completed, you do not lose your waiver priority.

However, if you drop a player, you cannot pick him up until he has cleared all waivers, and is a free agent again.

ask yahoo not a question for this forum (unless there are yahoo players here..doubt that many).
there are always questions asked here about rules or glitches with different providers; why wouldn't you come to a ff board for clarification of these things? and lots of people play on yahoo, even if they have other leagues as well.on point, my understanding is the same as ozy's.eta: this board is quicker and more responsive than yahoo customer care!

sorry..just that I never see that many yahoo FF questions here..really the first one is now and been here 3 months less then you (different screen name of course)!

I doubt you get a free ride. If it's an FA pickup...maybe. But a waiver pickup affects other waiver requests in the queue. If an owner can make a waiver request and drop that player (even if it is within 24 hours), that transaction alone should count against your waiver position.

You may be confusing the rule where if an FA is picked up and dropped within 24 hours, that the player returns to FA and NOT to waivers.
