Yahoo Waiver Rules (1 Viewer)

Is there a way to change this on Yahoo?

I've been in Yahoo Plus leagues and at 1pm kickoffs on Sunday, all players on the free agent list go back to waivers and stay there until Tuesday. However, in a custom non-plus league, even though I click, "Follow Waiver Rules," in the league settings, players remain free agents and a few owners who sit near a computer during games (myself included) get to hoard all the best backup RBs when players go down mid-game and etc.

Is there a way to change this in custom, but non Plus leagues on Yahoo?

TIA.

As far as I know, that feature is only available in PLUS leagues. That is one of the main reasons our league switched from free to PLUS last year.

Can't the commish just manually set all free agents to waivers?

You need PLUS for this. It's why we switched a couple of years ago. Picking up free agents during games is bush league.

It looks like ESPN provides this for free, I might switch our league over to ESPN next year. Any feedback on ESPN?

Just have the commish lock out the players from add/drops at the start of the first game.

Im the commish of one league that is too cheap to get Plus...and we dont even use the Yahoo! waiver system because ts not serpentine style. Therefore, I go in under commish tools and lock the league from being able to add/drop. The leagues been around long enough to where most teams know they cant do it...and if they do I go back and change it. However, we have three new people in our league so Im going to lock it every sunday.

i thought about doing this as well, but two problems arose. 1) i had to be able to sign in and lock waivers every thursday/sunday, no matter what. 2) i, being the commish, would always be the first to know when everything was unlocked (i.e. - there's no way to set a timer to have it done automatically) so that gave me an advantage over everyone else, even if it was supposed to be at a specific time.

I was in a yahoo league for 6 years but no longer. This is the main reason why. Well, that and our commish didn't look to rectify this problem even though many in the league brought it up.Our league is now on ESPN. All I have to say is that it's light years ahead of yahoo. As soon as the games start (whenever the matchup starts, Thursday night for thursday games, etc), all players on FA switch to Waivers. You can claim players on the weekend, but they are sorted by waiver priority and processed at Tuesday at 3am ET. Then from there until the next matchup, all players are on FA. I can't speak for other sites as I haven't been in leagues on them, but I can say ESPN is far superior to Yahoo.
