Yanks on verge of 4 year deal for Cano (1 Viewer)

The Yankees, locking up one of their young stars, are on the verge of signing second baseman Robinson Cano to a four-year, $30 million contract, according to major-league sources.

VERY good deal for the yanks if that's the price. He's a solid young player who should mature nicely during that window.

:banned: I love that kid's swing!
groundball machine. It was a miracle he hit 19 homers last year with a 52% GB rate. He can thank Yankee Stadium for that. For all players with 400 or more at bats last year with a 50% or higher GB rate, only 2 had more than 15 homeruns: Miguel Tejada and Cano. Cano hit 5 in the first half, 14 in the second half but his GB/LB never changed. His HR/FB ratio was insanely high in that 2nd half - moreso than it has ever been in his career. Unless he gets some more loft in the air, don't look for anything more than 15 HRs in 2008.

Love this deal, especially with Utley locked up, the only guy I would take over him.

15HR's 100RBI .315AVG 45 2B I'd be OK with those #'s from Cano.
