Yet another, Is this trade vetoable? (1 Viewer)

Cabby

Footballguy
12 team total points league

Team A gets

Calvin Johnson

Team B gets

Earnest Graham

Kevin Walter

Now, this trade was made last Monday night before I heard reports of Grahams injury. I am Team A and if the Graham injury ended up being serious I was going to get it reversed anyway. Injuries aside, is this trade vetoable? Despite early injuries to Colston and Burleson I am right in the hunt for 1st overall and Walter and Graham have been in my lineup almost every week. Team B has little chance of finishing in the top but wants to finish respectfully. He has had RB issues all year and Graham is a good RB 2 for him. Walter has as many points if not more than the other WR on his team.

If anything I thought I was taking a risk on Calvin with his tough schedule and questionable QB. If the injury to Graham is the reason this was vetoed I have no problem but I think it might have more to do with the fact that the standings at the top are very tight and I had a very good start to the week having had Cutler and Winslow in my lineup Thursday night.

The Commissioner is right at the top of the standings and just put a trade through last week with the last place team(and good friend) where he got Jamal Lewis and AJ for Micheal Turner. If that trade wasn't vetoed why should mine be? I'm still a bit new to FF and maybe I am missing something here so I am looking for some of your guys opinions on this trade. Maybe I wasn't offering enough, I'm still new to this but I thought the deal was fair.

Fair trade. The other trade was more lopsided.

I'm getting really tired of these threads. Unless collusion can be proved you should let the trade stand. Always. Screw the competetive balance. If everybody else was too stupid to not take advantage of some idiot owner then that's too bad for everybody else. Tell people to quit crying. There's no reason whatsoever that this trade should be vetoed. Point your commish to this link and if he still doesn't change his mind find a new league next year.

But if this is a redraft league and the team you traded with is already mathematically eliminated then I completely and totally support this trade not going through.

I'm not one that acts like the message board police but I agree. If we all posted questionable trades in this particular forum.....it would really detract from it. If you allow one, you have to allow them all so IMO these types of threads should actually be in the assistant coach's forum because you're asking advice/opinion of a trade which is all over the ASST. Forum. All won't agree, but I'd hate to have 5 or more of these things floating around on the front page of the Shark Pool.

Exactly what I was thinking, I always thought these things belonged in Assistant Coach.

Threads that are asking for advice on how you should draft or manage your team belong in The Assistant Coach forum.

They aren't necessarily asking advice in regards to their team, but rather their league.

Something generally that gets allowed.

But these are definitely in a very gray area, if mods won't move them all, I would suggest an ***OFFICIAL trade veto thread****

For all we know, some of them may be cleverly disguised questions for an owner to get a reaction to a trade they wan to make.

is it vetoable? of course its vetoable... all trades are ...even the fair ones like this. but they shouldnt be vetoed...and add me to the "asistant coach forum " crowd.... it is either loosely or tightly tied to team management depending on how you view it, because it is a question about a trade.it is CERTAINLY more closely tied to that than general fantasy football discussion... and unless thereare REALLY uniqe circumstances that would be interesting to the shak pool to disect, these kinds of threads need to be moved IMHO....

oh and not to be a jerk to the OP ( not his fault he posts in the propper forum at this time ) but no way should either of those trades be vetoed. also to the notion that people out of the playoffs not be allowed to trade, I disagree....they should be trying to make their team better till the end of the year just like the rest of us. to not allow them to trade because they are mathematically out of the playoff race is fundamentaly wrong and an easy way out for a comish not wanting to deal with collusion issues.

if a team cant make trades ( and in some leagues waiver wire moves ) how is that fair to the other teams that the out of the playoff team DOES NOT face? isnt telling a team he cannot try to improve his team tantamount to making it easier on the teams he DOES face? in my league teams in and out of the playoffs are treated identically all year long....and we have a weekly prize to keep those out of the playoff hunt active.

your commish trades Turner for AJ and Lewis to a last place team and is questioning yours? Looks like your commish is a cheat..find another league.

....and I'm getting tired of posts that says "unless collusion can be proven you should let the trade stand". We all know that "collusion" cannot be proven, EVER. Also, I don't think saying "screw competitive balance" in a dynasty league is an option.

How's this trade that just went down in my league:

Favre+Lynch for Boldin+Peyton Manning

As the commish I let this one slide but I voiced my opinion that the Manning owner was getting reamed.

Sorry to cause so much controversy guys. I really thought this type of question would belong in The Asssitant Coach as well but I seen others posted in the Shark Pool. Just looking for opinions and I got them. No need for anyone else to reply to this thread. Maybe there could be a forum just for trading, this type of thread probably doesn't belong in the Shark Pool.

wow I am glad I am not in your league then..... that is not even REMOTELY a lopsided trade...not even close... 2 qb's ranked about the same .... so it comes down to a top wr for a more rare running back having a good year and GREAT playoff matchups ( not to mention the games coming up before that including KC )

youre fine..... you posted it where it is supposed to be posted apparently..... its just that alot of us think these should go elsewhere. ( which is why, ( eventually haha) I answered your question. good luck with whatever happens

Why? For having an opinion as an owner? As the commish I didn't stop this trade from happening...

There are no questionable trades, they all should go through. You get rid of owners, not trades. I have been playing FF for 14 years and a trade has never been overturned in any of my leagues but we have replaced a number of owners at seasons end. As far as collusion goes all I can say is you have to know the people you play with.
