Young or Leinart (1 Viewer)

Who is going to be more valuable in rebuilding their respective franchises? Between the two quarterbacks, they are the only sparks that their teams have to look forward to. In my opinion, I believe that Young will turn out to be much more valuable to the Titans than Leihart will ever be for the Cardinals. While watching both their games today, both of them played spectacular, and almost led their teams to comebacks (Leinart heaved one in the endzone on the final play for the win). What are your thoughts on who will help their team the most, Leinart or Young?

I just hope that the Titans don't make the same mistakes the Eagles did with Cunningham and the Falcons are doing with Vick.

Just because this guy is a tremendous athlete in his own right and is a dual threat, don't forget to surround him with receiving talent.

Now... the Titans did the right thing with McNair before and didn't leave him on an offensive island. It looks like the Titans are at least trying to keep a solid run game together.

Young has a higher ceiling than Leinart.

Well, the Falcons have tried to get talent but White and Jenkins have been complete busts so far.

I think both guys will be great for their teams. I think that Young has the ability to be a special player. The comparison to Vick is not fair IMO. Young is already a better passer than Vick was coming into this year. Vick has much greater speed and agility, but Young has the size, height, accuracy and leadership qualities that separate him from Vick. Now, realize that I'm a Young owner in dynasty but I think he has the higher ceiling, but also has the lower floor. Leinart may need to be surrounded by top talent in order to thrive, but should be consistent.

I have more in common w/ Vick then Vince does. He is a COMPLETELY different type of player.
Do you both share a "social" disease you need to tell us about? This has been done to death, but I think Cunningham is the only player you can really compare to Young.

I've thought Vince looked promising since I saw him in his first NFL action. Still, he seemed to take more heat than most other rookie QBs thrown into action. It's quieted lately because he's put most of it to rest with his play. Like the Antrel Rolle/Pacman debate, these two will be compared for the next few years because of the Titan's choices in the drafts. I don't think the Titans regret their decisions.

Disgaree on all points.

Again...Staubach.FWIW, I'm quite certain both teams will be more than happy with their qb selections.

"Wow," Titans coach Jeff Fisher said when it finally ended.

Young ran for a touchdown and threw for two more in the final 9:35 and finished with a career-high 249 yards passing. Rob Bironas kicked a 49-yard field goal with 6 seconds left to win it.

The final minutes felt like a flashback to the national championship game last January when Young led his Texas Longhorns past Southern California. It's the biggest fourth-quarter comeback by a rookie quarterback ever, topping John Elway's 19-point rally with Denver on Dec. 11, 1983 against Indianapolis for a 21-19 victory, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

...With 23 seconds left, Young looked like a seasoned veteran as he completed two short passes and set up Bironas for the winning field goal.

i too disagree with everything u just stated. its your own opinion that i respect just i totaly disagree with it.

its very possible both QBs will be top 3-5 in future...

leinart's weapons in boldin & fitzgerald gives him explosive fantasy scoring potential... if he had gone just about anywhere else, i probably would have drafted VY...

leinart could be #1 in ARI... hard to have much more upside than that... though i agree VY could have the higher upside (no guarantees leinart gets to the top, good as his supporting cast & surrounding skill position talent is)... he is that good...

they are both very good...

leinart's arm strength issues are way overblown...

and he is a better athlete & moves better than he is credited for (reportedly one dunk contest/s as prep... 37"-38" vertical)...

plus you have to think putting a strong OL in front of that array of offensive weapons will be mission 1 for future HC that replaces green...

VY already one of best running QBs we have ever seen, but unlike vick, he is not glorified RB with scatter armed passing ability... he seriously evolved & matured as passer, and by last year in texas he may already have been better than vick will ever be as a passer... having a legit passer bolted on to his devastating run ability (& intangibles like leadership & football smarts, also shared by leinart) are a scary combo...

it will be interesting to see if fisher & chow survive this year & return in 07 (i hope so, but rumors of mutual interest in DAL gig... but increasingly it looks like parcells back in 07... which is when fisher signed through... maybe in 08, if at all)... that could only be a positive for VYs short-intermediate term development, if he retains continuity in coaching, offensive system/scheme, terminology, etc...

yea but they're both black, which people can't seem to get past.
I always laugh at the comparison of VY to MV. Maybe the only things the two have in common are that they are qbs who set the standard for running from the qb position, and as Capella said, they're both black. They're different in far more ways than they are similar.

Hey Guys,

Give Leinart Bennet and Boby Wade for WR and see if he can still throw for 405 yards! I think even I could throw to these guys and get 300 yards!

VY's talent is off the roof seriously. Anybody who has watched the game yesterday will agree. He was just amazing, and is still learning ... but learning very rapidly. His leadership is truly amazing also.

Every guys in the team keep saying that this guy gives a boost to everybody! His desire to win is even scarier.

Give him one more year and nobody will ever compare him again to Vick...Why?

The guy can pass... His numbers don't show that because of a lack of talent at WR right now and a lot of dropped passes.

Next year = Titans back on track. Thank you Vince! ;)

I'm ready for the big upset next week... Bring on the other Manning.

After next week we can add Cutler to this debate. :)
My thought exactly. I wonder where he'll fit in in this debate. Shanny was/is obviously sky high on the kid and unlike Tenn/AZ, Denver has a good defense and a good running game (or at least I thought they did). I guess it depends on what the debate is, fantasy or NFL.

I wouldnt get ahead of myself on this one, but I would take the Titans with the spread. Right now, the Colts are giving 7.5 to the Titans in Tenesse. The Titans secondary doesnt match up well with Harrison and Wayne, and Peyton should be able to pick them apart. This will be a shoot out though, because the Colts cant stop the run. Travis Henry and Vince will run wild, but the Colts take this one, 34-21. Another gutty performance for Vince though (he'll throw for 310, rush for 75, rush for 1 TD, and throw 1 TD). You heard it here first.
