Young WR shootout: (1 Viewer)

which one of these young WRs should provide the better fantasy performance this year:

Bobby Wade

Brandon Marshall

Jacoby Jones

James Jones

Wade appears to be the #1 WR on what will probably be a bad passing team -- but he could be very good in PPR leagues.

Marshall is the #2 guy on a team with a young but improving QB who will probably throw a lot.

Jones (Houston) is the #3 guy for now, but is moving up quickly to perhaps overtake Walter soon.

Jones (GB) is also the #3 guy for now, but has been described as the second coming of James Lofton.

Who would you take, and why? Presumably as a WR4 or 5.

Wade is nt a true #1 WR on any teams , i have zero clue ( Even with the lack of Vet on the Vikes roster ) why Wade is the #1 WR on this team . I have abslutely zero trust in Wade .

The only reaosn i woulk take Marshall over the Jones is that he is a sure lock at #2 in Denver while Jacoby is #2 but on a bad pass offense ( Except for Jhonson ) and James is actually #3 ( But i think he will supplant Jennings it s matter of a few games )

But this year Marshall for sure long term James Jones .

Brandon Marshall: Has the luxery of what should be a very good running game as wall as Javon on the other side receiving the double team. Cutler can deliver the ball as well. Denver's offense this year will be a poor man's Indy.

James Jones: Favre likes this kid. Even if Driver/Jennings remain healthy the entire season (which is doubtful), Favre will find a way to get this kid the ball. Bubba Franks is a bum and James is big and strong...Favre will use him as a "pseudo" tight end.

Jacoby Jones: Jacoby has lots of talent on a Houston offense that will be improved with the addition of Shaub. Ahman green is going to help open things up as well. Andre Johnson is the guy I really like to blow up, but, he doesn't fit into the discussion here.

B. Wade: I really don't know much about Wade, but, I do know that T. Jackson is a year or two away from being a serviceable NFL passer.

With all of that being said, I think James Jones has the most upside.

Cause they havent proven anything yet ( Jhonson is one of the best ) but wait for the regular season to see if Scahub will do better then Carr and Grenn better then Dayne ( Those guys are no sure thing ) plus what about the OL.

I like Brandon Marshall. He has the body and ability to be a top 10 WR. He also plays on a good offense with a good, young up-and-coming QB in Cutler. He is in his second year and so is more likely to produce more quickly than the rookies on this list. Rookie WRs rarely perform in their first season. James Jones had a great preseason but he won't have Favre throwing to him next year, and even this year he is currently WR3 on his team. He is a rookie and we don't know how his body will hold up to the rigors of a 16 game NFL season.

I think this is the correct answer.Marshall has serious potential and the best situation of the 4. Jacoby looks very good as well, but Houston won't generate as much yardage and TDs as Denver. James looks fine, but he's still a #3, they have no running game, and Favre is probably going to kill plenty of drives. I'm baffled as to how Bobby Wade is a #1 WR on an NFL team. His QB is mediocre, and his skills are weak. This is the same guy who got cut by the Bears in the middle of the season due to drops and fumbles. Somehow he parlayed a few Vince Young passes into a ~$18 million contract.

I think Wade will see the most targets this year. So, in a PPR format I like hiim over the rest.

Marshal is a nice talent, and I think he can outscore Wade, if giving enough targets. Cutler really seemed to lock into Walker in the preseason games I watched, but Marshall will get his too. I can see a lot of big plays from him.

James Jones is one injury away from being a top 10 WR, IMO. And, I don't think it matters who goes down (Driver or Jennings). If James gets on the field on a consistent basis, he's going to be money. However, I'm not sure he'll see as many targets unless one of the two mentioned gets injured. He DEFINETLY has the most upside.

I like Jacoby, but don't see him getting targetted like Wade or James Jones even. I know he's the #2 there most likely, however, I see the pecking order as....AJ, A. Green, Daniels, then Jacoby. Whereas in Minn it's Wade first, and in GB it's Driver, Jennings, Jones.

Excellent analysis, as usual Stingdiddy.It will be interesting to see if Jennings steps up in GB. If he has a couple of drops and struggles early, James Jones could move into the WR2 spot which has been extremely productive for fantasy owners. If Jennings plays well, I think James' upside is somewhat limited.Jacoby looks like a playmaker on a team without many playmakers. I think he'll get a lot of targets due to double coverage on Andre and Kubiak will get Jacoby the ball on reverses once a game.

I'd put Jacoby #2 for post-Favre purposes. (No I don't believe Rodgers will be the long-term answer)

Wade's a decent #3 WR and last among this list.
