Tempted by Squeeze. I know it wasn't from the 90's but it definitely enjoyed a revival in the late 90's. Makes me want to stick a fork in someone's throat.

Definitely in the running for worst "popular" song EVER
You're forgetting about "Meet Virginia"
According to Jamaal Tinsley "that's good white people music".
Wow. Musta been a brutha thing. When the song was popular, I had a black co-worker who would turn up teh radio every time Drops of Jupiter would come on. He loved it and knew every word. Normally, he hated anything but hip hop and R&B.

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day is excellent. And then there are many excellent songs from Blink 182 and the Foo Fighters to choose from.
Not one-hit wonders though....
My bad. Took my eye off the ball there.I liked "What It's Like" by Everlast (but prefer "The Ends")I didn't mind "All For You" by Sister HazelReally like "Counting Blue Cars" by DishwallaI know it makes me gay, but I find "I Love You Always Forever" by Donna Lewis very catchy.

Really liked Closing Time the first couple of dozen times I heard it. Now after a couple thousand I'd be happy to never hear it again.

Chumbawumba

Bosstones

Went with Semisonic even though I HATE Closing Time. Their other stuff was much better and live they were actually really good. They used to do a live cover of Prince's "Erotic City" in which the drummer would drum with one hand and play keyboards with the other. Pretty damn impressive, IMO.

People actually liked that Closing Time song? It made me want to choke people when I'd hear it at the bar. Possibly one of the lamest songs ever written

Closing Time - time for you to go back to the places you will be from

I know who I want to take me home

That song was painfully terrible.
:goodposting: There is a Leonard Cohen song of the same name that is 1000x better...
I really liked that song for about a month until I actually listened to the lyrics. I kept thinking I wasn't hearing it right.Although I still like "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end."

The Cardigans got a fair bit of airplay with 'Erase & Rewind' and another song that slips my mind right now. Voted How Bizarre.

Cardigans had a fairly substantial alternative following before Lovefool came out. Most notable song was "Love Me Now"

:goodposting: It's on my ipod.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones - is the band really a one-hit wonder? They have a lot of songs I like and seemed to do fairly well on the radio.
 I am listening to another one of their albums as we speak. I voted for the Bosstones due to the crappy options. I can think of 10 better one-hit wonders than the ones listed. One of my personal faves is Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta.

WTMF Tubthumping is in second place? First time I heard that song I wanted to kill myself, then it got played non-stop on every media outlet for a year.

Bittersweet Symphony is better than almost anything
:lmao:
 Walked in to that at my wedding reception
Do they lose points for ripping off the Rolling Stones?
They got totally screwed by that jewish guy that owned the Stones songs. Can't think of his name..... :lmao: Also, that whole Stroke 9 record is great. Backpack was/is a great tune though. Empire Records soundtrack is filled with great stuff. Flag Pole sitter is :lmao:
