Add/Drop and Waiver Wire wonderment thread: Do you still own Domingo Santana? (2 Viewers)

Machado Has Got To Be A Sell High, Right? What Kind Of Value Can I Get For Him?
Depends on the league.. Redraft, I can see dealing him. I think most of his stats are legit thought. Probably see a drop in average but I can totally see Machado settling in for a .270-.280 15-18 HR season with a ton of doubles.

Keeper/Dynasty league I am probably not trading him unless it is a huge haul.
Machado's AVG is BABIP aided but he's a legitimate talent. 3B seems shallow this year so viability of the trade depends on your options for replacing him in your lineup.

I Have Headley. Some Teams Have No 3B So That's Why I'm Thinking Of Dealing One. A Team Offered Me Marte But I Think I Can Do Better.

met john hirshbeck and the rest of the umpire crew last night. he's leaving me tickets at will call for the angel game today. very down to earth and the were all really nice guys.

and that my friends is what you call a cool story.

Are we picking up or dropping Hirshbeck??

Dropped Ike Davis today. It was a quiet ceremony with just some close family in attendance. Memorials can be made to the Valley Fever Fund.

Jamie Garcia's a back end depth guy for me (two start weeks/home...#### like that)....do I need to get ahead of the curve and drop him and grab Wacha....or does Garcia come back?

I remember reading somewhere that Garcia twittered that his shoulder pain was worse than previous. I'm guessing he finally goes for surgery.

aren't you ####### cute!! pick him up ya douschenozzle ;)

home plate umpire comes over to the rail and tosses my 6year old daughter a ball today.. good times.

once again, cool story, bro (added the 'bro' in the dim hopes that eurotrash gets the sarcasm and understands that it doesn't really belong in this thread, but that it's the only seriously active thread in the bball forum)

Drop one of Miley, McCarthy, Cashner, Ervin Santana, or sit tight? Gallardo is on my waiver wire...
Tough call. Obviously, you have to get Gallardo.Seems like it's got to be Cashner or McCarthy, to me.If there are usually solid options on the wire (as it seems) and especially if you have an IP limit, I'd probably drop McCarthy.I don't mind letting guys with almost zero K-upside go in those leagues. Every inning he throws without a K hurts you. Then again, my team has an ERA over 4.50, so chasing K's isn't always a great idea.If you are solid on K's and need the ERA more, I could see cutting Cash instead.

Looking to grab a MI, preferably 2B, for depth with Kinsler going on the DL.

Looking at Amarista or Ryan Roberts.

Anybody know why Roberts didn't play over the weekend (I haven't been paying attention to crappy MI's this season)? Should we expect Amarista to keep stealing ABs?

Roberts is a lefty specialist, Baltimore only started righties this weekend.

Very short benches, and Gallardo's owner is notoriously impatient.

I'm leaning Miley. He's only had a couple quality starts in his last five. Cashner has been pretty good lately, and I want to ride McCarthy until he bucks me, which could be soon, I know. We're penalized for walks, so it's nice to have a guy who commands the strike zone.

Thanks for the response.

Am I nuts for thinking about dropping Alcides Escobar for Profar Aldrelton or Didi?

It's not nuts, but I don't think I would. Maybe for Andrelton, but I think that's a situation where Andrelton might be the more quality real-life bat, but Alcides will help more in fantasy. Andrelton has speed and ran some in the minors, but he's only attempted 3 SBs in a little more than half an MLB season.I like him and wouldn't be against finding a way to own him, but not at the expense of Alcides. He might keep hitting some HRs, but not enough to make up for the lack of SBs.

I'd dump Santana, this houdini act can't last much longer.
If the walks start to tick up again I'll get antsy on Ervin. Until then I'll hang on to him.

His BABIP, HR/FB %, and HR/9 are back in line with his 2010-2011 numbers. Last season looks like the outlier. The significant difference is the lack of walks.

Thank you for your short schedule help, Mr. Yan Gomes. Now, the more difficult question, do I keep you around and plug in when you're starting so my empty stats of Avila, Victor, and Mesoraco can ride pine a couple nights/week.

Easier issue, back to the watch list Mr. Kazmir. Still optimistic, but next 4 scheduled starts are Boston, Texas, Detroit, and the Yanks. No thanks, see you in June. Maybe.

Shawn Kelly has some outstanding ratios. 30 Ks and 4 walks in 17 innings. Problem is 5 HR allowed. Dropped the recently demoted AlAl for him.

AJ once off the DL, for now salty because Milwaukee is oddly sitting lucroy often amidst the small sample size struggles. If Milwaukee starts to play lucroy often again re evaluate.
Oddly? He's barely hitting .200
and whats maladanado batting?
Yea, they really don't have another option right now. I wish Rotten Ronny would take this approach with Weeks. He's absolutely the worst 2B in the league, hitting and fielding

anyone got a good minors list floating around? Need to add someone now that Profar got called up

Only from February though... If you have a list of available players or if easier taken players, I have a pretty decent idea of minor league fantasy prospects and can help out.
Thx. These are the 11 that are currently rostered. I'd be looking for best available that would likely play in the show this year:

Myers
Zunino
Bogaerts
Hamilton
Gausman
Cole
Taveras
Bundy
Yelich
Skaggs

Are players like Bauer and Webster not eligible in your league because they have played in the majors this year already?

Pretty sure Wheeler will be getting the call later this summer.

Going with best available with most likely chance to contribute this year I am going with Zach Wheeler.

The main culprits for offense would be Myers/Taveras/Yelich and they are rostered. Other offensive players who might come up would be Nick Castellanos from Detroit but I don't see him being huge. So if you are looking mainly for potential value this year I think I am going 100% Zach Wheeler. He should be up within a few weeks and has the added benefit of being a legit top of the rotation type guy.

Other guys worth a look down the road but not likely to contribute much this year would be:

Archie Bradley

Chris Archer

Anthony Rendon

Wacha

Any DL stashes worthwhile. Looking at guys like

Davis

Eaton

Ludwick

Maybin

Petite

Beachy

Pineda

Most of them seem like WW fodder even if they aren't injured. Maybe Pineda has some pretty nice upside?

I think Beachy and Eaton should both be very useful.Beachy should be back soon. Not sure who he'll bump, but Teheran's pretty much the only option and he's been pitching very well of late. Though, a Teheran meltdown might be coming soon. He still isn't throwing his change-up (35 times all season) because it's either missing the zone badly or in the zone getting crushed. He's pitching well, but he's also a one and a half pitch pitcher (breaking ball isn't great).Either way, Beachy should be in the rotation soon and I wish I had him.

Thoughts on Grandal when he finishes his 50 day suspension on May 28th? Arencibia is digging his way to the mendoza line and my previous attempts to solidify my catcher spot have proven disappointing (both Monteros and Perez).

rendon without question

If you need power roll with jp. Otherwise, whoever is hottest among Perez, miguel, and grandal.

Any thoughts on Jeff Bianchi?

Jed Lowrie seems to be suffering from severe regression to the mean and/or is playing with an undisclosed injury. Bianchi has numbers in a very small sample size, and his PT is a question. But, with Weeks slumping and injury-prone Ramirez, Bianchi might have the chance to be a regular player.
